Now this is very interesting. I kind of wonder if Ballard and Reich gave sterling recommendations to Eberflus because he really is great, because they wanted to get rid of him, or some combination thereof.

Eberflus was told he had to adjust his defensive scheme last season because opposing offenses were completing 71% of their passes against the Colts. To his credit, Eberflus made the change, but he apparently only did so due to Ballard's intervention. This sounds like the kind of defensive coach who is a candidate to be fired--that is, unless another team swoops in to "steal" him first.

Eberflus was a McDaniels guy. I wouldn't be surprised if Reich wanted his own people.

They're getting the guys they want, but do they want the right guys?

Time will tell. There are both positive and deeply troubling aspects of the GM/HC searches.

Great point. I hope so. I feel better about the resumes of the new hires than those of Nagy and Pace.

If that were the case, why didn't he just hire his own guy when he took the job?

This is what people originally thought was going to happen. I wouldn't be surprised if it comes to pass. Ross gave Michigan the chance to step up, but they apparently haven't?

I don't think he had a choice. After all, he was literally the 3rd guy they attempted to hire.

Thats been the play all along. Ross being Michigan's biggest booster just didn't want to go ahead and hire him without making it look like he was going elsewhere first.

If Harbaugh winds up in the NFL.. im keeping an eye on the contract. If it ends up being like 5 years 10 mill a year or less..? Yeah, I’m gonna wanna know more about why the Bears couldn’t/didn’t land him.

I'm fine with that. I'm hoping the Vikings hire DeMeco Ryans.

Pretty sure Eberflus had already signed his paper.

Getsy was a grad assistant at Pitt under Wanny.

Sold.

He is going to be great.

Doesn't Eberflus have a Wanny connection too?

I tend to agree, but they're going to point to the Gruden debacle and say "Why would we do that?"

anyone with two brain cells knew Gruden would do poorly in Vegas. I really wish the Bears had made it work with Harbaugh.

But I do also think he's using Minny for leverage for Michigan.

Wanny doesn't seem to know anything about Eberflus (or Poles), so I doubt their paths have ever crossed professionally.

Getsy is only 37 but has switched jobs 10 times. I don't see anything in his background that would suggest he would be a successful OC.

Same could be said of Poles except that Poles hasn't switched jobs. Maybe that's even worse?

These are nondescript guys who are fortunate to be associate with good QBs.

Poles had 3 different regimes retain him. Getsy had Rodgers and Adams request for him to return after McCarthy was fired.

This is amazing. I really wonder if he is going to take the gig officially when Phillips retires.

Mully, Haugh and Biggs are saying that Eberflus is bringing four members of the Colts defensive staff with him. This is very curious.

I hope Eberflus manages to bring in Marinelli as defensive line coach.
