Fields doesn’t have much to say, which is fine.

At least he’s not crying.

I like Flus so far. I hope he's not going to be schematically rigid because the Tampa 2 isn't going to work with the quarterbacks that are playing in the league right now.

Poles asked why he didn't consider Bienemy; he basically said he wasn't the right fit.

Poles thinks and speaks similarly to Olin.

Both Linemen...I was thinking his cadence was similar to Olin's.

Hate to break it to the Bernstein types, but much of football is still one hundred percent meatball, especially on the lines where your big angry guys have to be able to move the other teams big angry guy by shoving him out of the way, not much finesse there no matter how much the goofs that gab on endlessly on the score, remember these guys LOVED Pace and Nagy until the rest of us started laughing at them for being such idiots about the basic concepts involved in football.

Will it work? Who knows? Will it be a one hundred percent departure from the Pace and Nagy who thought they could out finesse you by running plays you had never seen before. In many ways Pace and Nagy were the perfect combo for the Bernstein/Holmes/Parkins, "smart fans station", and we all saw how that went and how it failed.

Ready for a different approach, especially on offense where the team only really needs to get to the middle of the pack on of offense while maintaining a top 10 defense.

I think a team you’re describing tops out like this year’s 49ers, maybe last year’s Titans. Both very good teams that’ll eventually be undone given weakness at the QB position. Obviously I’d love to trade spots with either right now…

I’m happy for the bears to strengthen the line and all, but they’ve been a decent rushing team for the better part of a season and a half. Without that less meatbally approach to the passing game, it’s very tough to sustain a legitimately good team over multiple seasons.

Agreed. He's good on the meat-and-potatoes stuff. He gets into trouble when his show becomes personality-driven.

What's the plan for Fields?

"Find out what he does well and do that a lot. Then work on his weaknesses. "

Which is pretty much what a lot of us were saying here most of the season. Nagy never did that.

Play action, rollouts, sprint outs, designed runs, deep balls.

It's better than pretending your quarterback is someone else and that you have players that are on another team.

I guess that's me.

But it's the truth.

Go with what works until your opponent stops it is the rule of thumb in just about any sport.

No need to pointlessly complicate things.

We may have more Polish people than Irish people. I would have never guessed this until the past few years. That's interesting.

Would you have rather him say, "We're going to mold him to fit our system and coach him to be the quarterback we want him to be," callersoxfan?

How many games did Fields miss last season due being injured after running plays? 3 or 4 games? They need to teach him to run when needed. Lamar Jackson missed 5 games for the same reason.

My mom grew up on a block where everyone spoke Polish. She didn't know anyone who didn't speak it until she went to high school at Schurz. Much of her youth resembled a Nelson Algren novel.

The point genius is it doesn't matter. If Fields doesnt have it between his ears, schemes and coaching are irrelevant. Zach Taylor is a doofus, Burrow is special so it doesn't matter.

I'm kind of leaning that way with Daboll, too.

Taylor was an all conference quarterback in college. Probably better than being an Arena League quarterback. He does come off as off though.
