So there is no confusion here, I am a Sox fan but not a fan of Hawk. He reminds me of sitting next to the 50 year old guy who yells at the umps about every call, like they can hear him.

I hate when he gets on his horse and DJ rides along just to try and create a broadcast and you know he doesn't believe it, just like the umpire thing.

Will Stone try and interject some intelligence by actually raising another point other than "These umpires stink!"

or will he just sit back and let hawk babble on and say nothing?-

Stone won't allow Hawk to make him his bitch like Wimpy and DJ did. Hawk knows that so he won't even try. He won't be a dick to Stone.

I wonder if "Hawk" will do like Ed Farmer has done on several broadcasts with the phrase "You were sayin'?" following a significant play in the game with Steve... As for Darrin Jackson's future, I've heard he's joining the new MLB Network that's launching in the New Year. White Sox fans, I think you know what that means for listeners on "The SCORE" & the Chicago White Sox Radio Network...There's going to be an opening on the radio side, folks.

FYI, did you call the Score today? Heard a call during B&B that asked this exact question and Bernstein of course rolled out the company line that Stoney will be fine because he did "GREAT" with Hawk for 6 games last year.

Well, I am sorry I did not remember the classic 6 games from last year that they did.

Will Stone be a part of replaying the great pickoff ripoff os 2008 when they replay it next year and Hawk comlains about it.

No, but the question came up when Ed Farmer actually joined "MJH" yesterday afternoon, and "Farmio" seemed surprised that it was asked...

Stone will bitch about the umps, but he'll do it in a Steve Stone way, like

"That was a great pitch by Gavin Floyd, a slider low and away for a strike. Unfortunately, C.B. Bucknor, in his infinite wisdom, deemed the pitch a ball."

SHARK, I will perhaps pay you money, in small denominations and perhaps in foreign currency if you ever call B&B...I will be listening riveted to the radio should that day come...

The big difference will be - after that comment, he will move on.....

I guess he will just whine "AW THAT WAS A HORRIBLE CALL." Where was the "dadgum it" at the end, Steve?

I'll tell you what Steve Stone will do next year. He will make Sox Television broadcasts a LOT more interesting, intelligent and informative. He cannot control whether or not Hawk will go off on an umpire, but I think he may well help the broadcast to refrain from focusing on it, so that the broadcast deteriorates into a whine-fest. I am very much looking forward to next years change in the booth. I think most Sox fans will really enjoy the broadcasts next year much more.

I think they will work well together. Hawk will be doing more play by play, and Stone breaking down what's happening. Hawk will still prove the emotion, and Stone will provide the analysis.

I am most interested to hear whether Stone joins in on yelling "Yes!", after Hawk puts it on the board.

I have always thought that was the worst part of the Hawk - DJ broadcasts. DJ trying to muster up some fake enthusiasm to match Hawk's, as they both yell "yes". It is really uncomfortable to listen to. I get the impression that Hawk makes DJ say it.

I have been trying to remember whether Wimpy used to join in. For some reason, I don't think that he did. Does anyone remember?

You'll be waiting a very long time, City. I "pull up a chair" into "MJH's Afternoon Saloon" like most Chicago sports fans. I don't have time, let alone patience to call into a talk radio show. Wishful thinking...

"The Cubs have had the easiest schedule in the history of professional sports." He's a company man.

Does that mean, that he is part of Dr. Ken's "The Pulse"?
