Who is doing these daily games? Just got mine today on the second guess!

I am using this one:

I've been averaging the 3rd guess...9 in a row.

I started a few days ago. Also downloaded a Wordle app because I want to play more than once a day.

A lot of 2nd guesses today.

Me? 4th. Slow and steady wins the race.

I always get it between 3 and 5. It's just the old game show Lingo, made palatable for the people who work in your office.

The Failing New York Times bought it and will be paywalling it, though, so onto the pile it goes with HQ. Remember that?

Adieu.

Can't spell WSCR without "Screw".

Screw is a good one. I usually start with camel and then night or sight.

It gets into motivation, doesn't it?

Do you want to solve it or solve it quickly?

I like "adieu" because it sets up the vowels but doesn't get you close to a solution.

"Earth" is a good one for balance of vowels and consanants. You have a good chance to dazzle with a quick solution.

I think it says something about the Wordle player if you want the glory of a 2-step solution or the appreciation of a long streak.

Who are you?

Hadn't heard of it until last week. Don't care.

Earth and adieu are excellent but now I'm going to feel like I'm cheating if I use these.

That's my dilemma with crosswords. I love being able to speed-run them early in the week (3:58 on today's), but when I'm trying to sprint my way through a Sunday puzzle, I feel like I'm snarfing down something I should be savoring. I only get the big grid once a week, so I should be trying to enjoy the time and make it last, but I feel like if I'm not rushing, I'm doing poorly. Then I read where Will Shortz said a great puzzler can do a Sunday in 8 minutes, and I realized my speedruns were coming in at twice that, and I was pretty embarrassed.

I’m going to start with screw tomorrow.

And then I’m going to fire up Wordle.

Wordle is good, but I typically start my day off with the New York Times Spelling Bee puzzle. I've made it to Queen Bee 25 times so far this year and get really pissed when I don't get all the words. It hasn't exactly turned out to be the stress-reliever I was hoping for.

this stupid little game is pretty fun. Getting it in 2 is well done! I did that once last week after hitting 3 letters in the first guess. i had a little luck getting the last 2 letters but i'll take it.

Yesterday was the complete opposite. As I recall I got 4 letters pretty quick but then took me 3 or 4 guesses before I finally got it on the last chance try.

Seriously though, as you age, daily games like these and crossword puzzles do help the brain.

Well maybe not MY brain but hopefully yours

See, I just made an offensive anagram, simply based on your rather infrequent user name...fun
