I am sure many of us are working to try and lose a few lbs again this year.

our bathroom scale broke. Anyone have a good recommendation on one you like? Looked around amazon a little, but all of them have a variety of ratings from great to terrible.

Don't use a scale. Clothes tell the story.

Around Halloween I stepped on the scale and didn't like what I saw. Down about 20 from that peak. The first 10 was off fast. The next 5 not so bad, the last 5 slow. I don't have a set goal in mind but there are a few items of clothes that need to fit better. You know, the dressy carharts. I'd figure 5-10 more and I'll be there.

Got some equipment out of storage and set up my sun room as a little gym. Weight bench, barbells, dumbbell rack with 3-75 lb dumbbells, spin bike, concept2 rower, elliptical machine that I got for free from a client. https://www.fitnesssuperstore.com/Octan ... -p/q37.htm

Gig tonight and then we begin tomorrow. I'd like to be able to run the Madison Mini in late July this year.

I'm down about 5lbs since getting back from Mexico. I've been lifting but not consistently and been a failure at getting to the gym to use the treadmills. Going to try to reboot this weekend since the gym is near my work and I am going into the office this weekend. Was going to lift and hit treadmill and then get some work done on my way home. I shoveled my driveway this morning which took 45 minutes. Didn't think it was worth firing up the blower at 5am and figured it was essentially exercise. I've been doing the intermittent fasting thing and pretty much used to it. I usually do a salad with chicken at lunch or a can of soup. My biggest challenge is dinner. I can eat between 11am - 7pm so by 4pm I am getting pretty hangry and don't make the best choices. Trying to hit a weight goal before I head to the Masters and am about 10 lbs from it right now with 8 weeks to go. I should be able to lose close to 15 by then if I could buckle down.

I'm watching what I eat a little more closely and doing some cardio every day. Did 2k on the rower in 9 minutes last night. I'd like to eventually get to the 7 minute challenge...but that's pretty advanced.

I'm not doing anything new and exciting this year, just maintenance workouts for the most part. My wife got the BeachBody subscription a few years ago and I have been cycling through that stuff almost exclusively now for 2 years. I have a decent set of dumbbells at home and a bunch of bands and a pull up bar so I can get plenty of resistance work in. There is a bunch of crap on there that I don't want to do but the do have a few really good programs. It beats destroying my knees pounding the pavement and is way cheaper and way easier on the schedule than going to the gym. Lots of good corrective work, mobility work and core. I'm going to go crush some 645 right now.

I gave up. Was down 17 pounds and swimming 5x per week and then the weather got cold and Lifetime closed the outdoor pool. As a result everyone flocked to the indoor pool and now you have a better chance of getting through to Ticketmaster in the late 90s than you do of getting a lane in the pool. they have a reservation system where you ahve to sign up a week in advance for a lane. Tried it and logged onto the App 30 seconds after it opened and all 6 lanes already full and 4 on a waitlist. Went from swimming 5x per week to swimming 1x in 2 weeks.

At $180 per month that wasn't worth it so quit the club. Can't do anything else for exercise on account of me having drop foot since my last back injury. Gained 7 pounds back and haven't exercised since October.

will consider joining again in May when the outdoor pool opens up again and then just hit it hard for a couple months before I go to Israel.

I have a Smith machine and a Total Gym in my basement along with some dumbbells. It's enough to make some gains and progress but in the winter it is kind of cold down there so I just need to put a sweatshirt on and get to it for 25minutes.

I'm working my way back post surgery. It's probably going to take me 4-6 weeks to get to where I was before. Had to do nothing other than walk for six weeks and even that was a slow slog to start. Doing high intensity interval on the elliptical three days a week then bodyweight exercises the other three days. Would like to get some hand weights but I really don't have room in my house to store them so I think I will have to keep with the bodyweight stuff.

My cardio now is horrible and I couldn't even do one sit up (probably has to do with them tearing my midsection up). But I'm slowly gaining it back.

Good thing was that I didn't gain any weight during December/early Jan but lost some muscle mass.

40 min of cardio on the Eliptical this morning.
Thanks to all for the needed kick in the ass.

Haven't done shit since Thanksgiving. The weather hasn't cooperated to play golf at all down here and most of my walking has been in airport terminals. Amazingly, my weight has stayed in the same plus/minus 3 range for the last year, which is a 20 year low. Unfortunately, I still want to lose another 20 pounds by the end of the year so I need to get cracking.

I broke my wrist a couple weeks ago so my daily pushups and pullups have ceased. I really need to do some upper body. Been hitting the stationary bike pretty hard when my schedule allows and averaging well over 10,000 steps per day. When I went to the Doc they had me listed at 172 lbs. I told them to add 20 lbs to that.

The guy from the vshred commercials on YouTube is hot and I love him. I will watch the whole commercial sometimes. Definitely feel it in my legs, inner thigh area.

Anybody have a good free app or site that they use to track food/exercise? The one I used to use changed to something else.

My Fitness Pal has worked for me when I am tracking. You can scan the bar codes on food items and it pulls it right up most times. Easy and convenient.

Dropped 60 since last September. Cut booze (all kinds), pop (all kinds), almost 100% vegetarian. No gym, no running

I'm back at it starting last weekend. I have a membership to Planet Fitness. 24 hours a day during the week and opens at 7am on weekends. Going to hit it 3x a week at 4:30 before work and then go harder on the weekends. If I can continue to go consistently between now and Thanksgiving I think I can make it a habit. The over under of keeping this going vs quitting is 11/15.

Had my annual biometric screening in September and it got my ass back in cardio mode. I've stayed pretty consistent the last month, but I'm with ya T-Bone....I'm sure I'll get lazy soon enough
