Welp. Many were right. But not me. He doesn't have a basketball body. Or the will to create one.

fuck that.

Giannis had 50 tonight.

50 pts and 14 rebounds.

This after sitting out last night with a "sore ankle" (it was just to rest after a long road trip)

His 50 pts was on only 21 shots.

Apparently that's something of a record, or close to it.

thank God for teasers, but gonna miss the nba for nearly a week. good investment day yesterday, all-star game taking it all away for a week.

ymca body b!tch-ass white boy doncic pouring in 30 foot 3s, but the pelicans make a fierce 4th quarter comeback and cover with teaser help. pelicans seem decent, but can't be bothered to play defense at times. i took n.o. because i still feel dallas is a 1-man team and the pelicans were at home. lucky play, the pelicans were down 24 in the 2nd half and covered.

speaking of the b!tch-ass white boy, i also had charlotte (+4) and montrezl harrell against the banged-up heat. my take is that charlotte has talent, but, may have the worst coach in the league. charlotte up 12-14 in the 4th and as i watched their lead dwindle away, reality set in that i would be happy with a push. charlotte has no idea how to finish games and last night was the ultimate proof. the hornets lose by 4 in double overtime. push.

easiest play was an angry philly side getting double digit points on the road at milwaukee. the 76ers win straight up, no help.

the nba is a market-maker just like a goldman-sachs.

never said it was easy, said some match-ups are easy to play. just talked about losing recent tough plays of atl at home against san antonio and philly at home against boston.

case in point, philly getting points plus more teaser points against the bucks in milwaukee. bucks banged up, philly embarrassed at home on national tv against boston...philly won straight up. charlotte losing in double overtime was also tough - getting 4 points at home, the play pushed...to me, charlotte is a buster team. will always look to go against them on the road. poor coach.

that's right. enough talent where they won't get double digit points on the road against a good side, but with teaser help - you're -3 1/2 against the hornets. they just showed their ineptitude with a double overtime home loss (charlotte up 12 in the 4th) to a banged-up miami (no herro, butler bad shoulder) after losing in overtime away to minnesota. i had minn with teaser points.

i saw that charlotte's montrezl harrell had 2 free throws with 1.8 seconds left in the first overtime and the hornets down by 1. he made the first, missed the second..on to double overtime where charlotte predictably lost.

prior, they played up and coming memphis at home and were down in the 30's in the 3rd quarter. i believe memphis had 70 points in charlotte just in the 1st half. charlotte came back, but, charlotte can't win a game twice, let alone once.

buster club. the coach can't get them to play defense and they have no idea how to finish a game when they do have a late lead.

like you said, it's not easy.

some match-ups are perfect (philly at milwaukee), toss in the teaser points and more times than not, it will be a good investing day.

Teaser losses are a killer. They'll make your hair gray prematurely.

Nets and Irivng won in Milwaukee tonight.

Milwaukee has now lost 2 straight at home to East contenders (Philly last week).

They got Phoenix comin' in next week.

By the way, Nets now only 5-10 when Irvin' plays. Very surprising even though all on the road.

Also, James Johnson is on the Nets, and STARTING. I had no idea he was even still in the league. Looks like a pretty good player too. This was the Bulls #1 pick in 2009.

Replay is on now on NBATV. Tune in!

g.s., hot out of the gate in utah...i believe they were up 16-4 inside of 4 minutes. golden state ends up losing by 26. ex-bull otto porter taking 35 foot 3s..no wonder. i don't understand the love for g.s. from nba network analysts.

looks like the lakers are done. there must be tons of turmoil in the locker room and their head coach doesn't appear able to coach in the hungarian league. watched westbrook against the clippers/knicks/bucks...he looks and plays like he's stoned. easy 12 foot bank shots, unguarded, he hits the shot clock. fans really turning on the hometown hero. lakers lost to portland last night, a portland that has already mailed in the season.

a.d. against a scrub center and the lakers lose.

2 weeks after this, more of the same from golden state and the lakers.

golden state with a comfortable lead over dallas for 3 1/2 quarters..21 points to 14 points ahead and then they decided to stop defending and attempt 3-pointers...result, dallas comes back (with doncic sitting) and beats golden state at home. jeez...curry asks a rhetorical question in a tv commercial (am i the best shooter in all time history??) and my answer is no. you weren't last night, dinwiddie of dallas was better than you.

the lakers....more garbage. no defense, turnovers...the pelicans come in and whip their asses.

the return of the real hornets. destroy toronto at home in their first game after their debacle at home against miami. will charlotte now go from strength to strength with another home game against the pistons?

of course not, it's charlotte with the worst coach in the league. charlotte loses at home to the pistons.

The NBA has to be sick that Ja Morant is in Memphis and doesn't seem to have a problem being there.

Yeah I pray like hell that he doesn't get the "big market" bug in a couple of years.

I dated someone who went to Murray State and went down there a couple times so I’ve always followed their teams. I thought they did pretty well for themselves when Popeye Jones was their best NBA alum. Ja kinda blows him out of the water. They do have quite a few NBA guys though, Cam Payne and Isaiah Canaan most recently.

The NBA hopes he does. Especially before t.v. rights come up again.

Well he's gonna be their greatest recruiting tool for a decade at least.

And I had to look up where it is. As usual.

I went to a football game once because she was in the band. It’s one of those stadiums with a track around the field so they have some horse with a jockey (Racer 1) gallop around the track. It’s suitably hokey.

Yeah they have to make up for whiffing on Zion Williamson. It would be a shame if that kid bolts simply to get a bigger endorsement deal. The Memphis fans love him and Memphis is a great basketball city.

Figured somebody would have posted Ja from last night. Jesus fuck, that dunk, CM Punk in Chicago doesn't even get a pop like that. The crowd, the announcers, the bench, the dunk sound...
