According to Shefter he's being traded to the Chargers. Wow!

The Bears have way too many holes to fill to keep guys like Mack and Quinn. They desperately need to amass draft picks.

I doubt they can get a first rounder in return, but a 2nd and 3rd in this year's draft plus a second or third next year would be a pretty nice haul.

He's been injured and not quite as dominant as he was when they acquired him. Plus he's 31. Still considered a top 10 defensive player though I would think. Maybe a 1st and 3rd.

Poles saw Rodgers re-sign and the Bears odds go to +800 to win the division. Something drastic had to be done.

A second and a sixth is a little disappointing, but there is also additional cap space freed up, so that helps.

Wow I was way off. Well they get some solid Cap relief. Do they spend it this year or hold onto it?

I’m sure he’ll do well in LA but he’s not carrying the Bears anywhere.

Thanks for the memory or two; best of luck.

The Bears got a haul for Khalil ‘Yearly Sabbatical’ Mack. Maybe they can move into the 1st now and grab Olave

They freed up about $6-7 million in cap space. They will need to use all of it this year.

I would assume that Quinn will also be traded prior to the draft.

A second and a sixth is not a haul.

It is when the player you traded, never plays. Chargers traded for a ghost

I would like to know the dead money, and how much they freed up next year and the year after.

The dead cap hit is $24 million. They freed up $6-7 million for this year, $11 million for next year, and $17 million for 2024.

I would hope Quinn is traded. Tear down.

A new GM wants to start with a clean slate. I can't blame him.

Smith and Johnson are the only starting defensive pieces that should be unavailable. Obviously you move a guy like Gipson in to start at DE and see how good he can be.

Next year will suck something hard.

The offense may be the bright spot next year if Fields can figure some things out.

It's depending on a lot of growth from last year's draft class.

Get another 2nd+ for Quinn.

We got a better RB and a better CB in the same draft than the Raiders did with those higher picks.

But what came in between was mostly disappointing.

would have hoped to have gotten a 2nd and a 3rd. that's what von miller cost, but miller also had an expiring contract so i guess that reduced mack's value in this trade. I don't hate it but it obviously isnt a screaming win right now.

WHat is the over/under games he plays this season? An IR stint is almost certain.

I'm guessing a JJ Watt season. Nobody was trading for Watt last year. Just a steal by the Bears.
