I think, if they have a top 5 or top 10 pick next year, you take a LONG look at the QBs available in the draft.

Should know by midseason if Fields is the guy or not, but Poles is positioning the franchise for a complete revamp next year.

Hub defended Pace to the very end. Saying he's been highly underrated during his Bears stay..
I'd think sooner or later he'll be backpedaling that support.

True....and yet they won't be any worse than the 2021 Bears that were "going for it"

He doesn't dog it on the field but it really doesn't look like he has dedication to his craft in the off season.

Still, Eberflus said WILL was the key position for his D and Roquan is a good one.

We hope Roquan is a good WILL linebacker.

He's never played the position in the NFL or in college.

Hub and all the local Bears "experts" were all revealed to be completely irrelevant during the past two years of the Pace/Nagy era, you have to go to a handful of local guys or national coverage to get an honest take on the team. Remember Moon Mullen and Olin honestly telling you how inept the team looked in practices under Nagy, and you only got stories on how disorganized the team looked in training camp in articles from opposing team writers.

The rest of the world laughed at Pace's approach to the draft, openly mocking the Bears and Pace for wasting valuable draft capital by trading up a few spots to pick guys that apparently only Pace valued. His overpayment for limited production was also openly questioned by everyone but the local guys like Hub who apparently are so lazy that they all report the exact same team approved takes on everything.

Hub's segments used to be at least entertaining, but now they are nothing more than him repeating whatever the team tells him to say.

Hub is basically a P.R. arm for the franchise.

Interesting that George started a beef with Olin, everything Olin said about Pace/Nagy ended up being true in the end, he just had no problem going on local media and arguing with guys like Hub instead of just being a good boy and toting the company line, likely cost him a cushy job in local media as a "Bears Expert", and whatever paper that comes with doing a regularly scheduled "Bears Hit", two words (a little inside baseball for long time score guys).

When Olin provides objective analysis for the Bears players that he trains, I'll start taking him seriously.

Olin's analysis regarding roster construction, scheme and playcalling is typically very strong. His evaluation of individual offensive linemen is extremely unreliable.

All they have done so far is overpay for a 3 technique. I'm not impressed.

They've shed bad money, acquired reasonable pieces and picked up draft picks. We're only 2 days into free agency and most receivers are still available.

There are some conflicts of interest when Olin is both coaching certain guys in the off season and then evaluating them during the season

You wouldn't have been impressed if they had traded Eddie Goldman for Tom Brady and three 2nds.

Go away and leave the thread to people who aren't going to troll-shit in it every day.

The Chicago Bears have been a laughing stock of the NFL for over a decade. It's hilarious that people think the management should get any benefit of the doubt.

I actually agree with you on both those points. But all you are in this thread is a pigeon with diarrhea.

What receivers are you upset the Bears didn't sign besides Chark? It's not unreasonable to have more than 2 days of patience in an offseason that most of us see as a rebuild.

Why? Giving up a draft pick to take on that contract would have been foolish.

As bad as allocating 50% of your cap to two players?

What team has done that, that would be extremely stupid?

Yep.

Bob wants them to get a WR, but you can already mark it down whoever they get that Bob will complain about it.

Yet he says he wanted Cooper  If they had given up draft picks for Cooper he would have been the first one complaining

Vikings speculation is that Poles took the Bears job because Bears ownership was going to allow him to tear it down and do a complete rebuild, while Vikings ownership wasn't interested in that. So, Poles passed on a 2nd interview with the Vikings as a result and took the Bears job. Poles was a hot commodity and would have had multiple offers. While the Vikings hire Kwesi told the Vikings ownership what they wanted to hear because the Vikings were going to be the only option for him. For what it's worth...Poles seemed to be the hot GM candidate and the Bears got him.

Well....it does appear the Poles has been allowed to tear it down. We shall see.
