Don’t usually take pleasure in seeing the guys struggle but this has been kind of fun thus far because almost everyone is stepping in it. The guys not playing this afternoon are getting a big advantage

I'm really bummed I won't be able to watch the end today. A lot of guys still have a legit chance to win. I'd say anyone starting at -3 or better could climb back in there. Not sure how the weather is supposed to be today. I'd like to see Kisner make a run, also a bigfan of Cam Smith. Harold Varner III definitely is a fun guy to watch.

Nobody made any big moves to end the 3rd round. A couple guys out there on the final round at -2. With the leader teeing off at -9 you are going to have to have someone shoot an incredible round in the mid 60s if they are going to come from way behind.

Henley making a big charge at -5 right now for his final round. Homa also at -5 but I think he may have a little too much to make up to catch the leaders.

Seeing pictures and video this morning of a complete loss of the Main Clubhouse at Oakland Hills this morning, lots of history went up in flames there.

A month after the devastating fire that burned down the Oakland Hills Country Club, new evidence shows the fire appears to have started from construction workers using a propane torch against a wall.

The construction workers were on the east side of the building trying to rebuild a patio, said Bloomfield Township Fire Chief John LeRoy in a news conference this week.

They were using the torch to install rubberized flashing, and the heat from the flame helps dry it in the cold weather, he said.

After using the torch, the workers appeared to see smoke coming out of the wall and used a hose. Then, the video cuts to flames bursting out of the wall after firefighters axed it. He said the fire was able to live and spread between the walls.

“It looks to me that they were like, ‘Uh oh, we got a problem here,’ and were trying to figure out what to do, that’s where the hose comes in,” said Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard.

As of now, Bouchard said it appears there was no intent to start the fire. But the footage is incomplete, and officials are continuing the investigation. Bouchard said it could take a full year to finish it.

“Some things look conclusive, but may not be,” he said.

It is unclear how long the fire went before someone called 911, LeRoy said, and the 911 call came from the pastry kitchen in the basement.

The surveillance footage was recovered from a hard drive submerged in water during the fire, and investigators are working to figure out the timestamps to “piece it all together,” LeRoy said.

The historic country club burned to the ground on Feb. 17, taking with it a century of golf history and mementos that can never be replaced. It took firefighters all day to battle the blaze.

Bouchard said the fire caused an $80 million loss to the country club.

Officials continued to sort through the embers of the devastating Bloomfield Township fire for the past month, using evidence from the scene and different witness statements.

Statements obtained by the Free Press recall a smell of smoke and the blinking strobe lights of the fire alarm, followed by a hurried evacuation and the growth of flames. However, two employees also mentioned a failing heat pump in their statements to law enforcement.

In their statements, employees say the structure was undergoing repairs in parts of the building and because of that, it had contractors on-site the day of the fire. Responding firefighters dragged away propane tanks, a heater and a torch from the building, which were confiscated for evidence, according to police reports also obtained by the Free Press.

The Oakland Hills Country Club board voted to build a replica of the 99-year-old iconic building that was decimated by the fire and predicted it would take a few seasons to complete.

Round robin for Match Play starts today. Always enjoy this event. Fun course and all the big names. Weather looks pretty good all week and weekend

Agree. I like this event much more in Austin than when it was in the desert.

Didn't get to watch nearly as much of the Match Play as I was hoping. Scheffler has made an incredible rise to world #1. I was really impressed with Kisner this week. I know how badly he wants to win a Masters and wouldn't be surprised if he takes this week off to get ready and make a run at a green jacket.

Scheffler has won 3 of his last 5 events. That's very impressive.

Was really hoping Richard Bland could have advanced and made it into the Top 50 to get an invite to Augusta. He's playing at the Valero this week and needs to win make it happen. Nonetheless, a great story.

Morgan Hoffman playing this week for first time since 2019. Has three starts left on a major medical extension. If you are looking for a dark horse to root for that's the guy. He's been through it the last number of years trying to fight muscular dystrophy

Sheffler and some of the others on Tour seem pleasant (but dull) enough, so how far do ratings crater with Tiger effectively out until St. Andrews?

Golf ratings have been up significantly this year.

Seems like a pre-Champions Tour type league. Probably get some young guys in there as well. Pretty sure the PGA Tour is going to want to black ball anyone who signs up for this league. I have mixed feelings on it. I think more golf competition is a positive thing but the Saudi's just don't have a very clean reputation on a number of fronts. Sounds like they are going to do it no matter what so should be interesting.

I am going to curious what the Masters does if Bubba is indeed going to play there.

I'll be interested to see if they're televised and if so, who does it. It won't be Golf Channel, NBC or CBS...maybe ESPN 2 or Fox 1. I certainly plan on watching and following the tour. The more golf the better.

Plus, the PGA tour is in China. Golf manufacturers make almost all their products in China. That being the case, I wouldn't think that the PGA tour is going to go after the new tour on political grounds.

Kevin Na is the surprising name for me. Unlike the other guys he is still able to compete and actually win on the PGA Tour. I guess the money is too much for him to pass up. Can't say I blame him, but if those are the "big names" I'll take a hard pass on watching. Although one of the events is going to be at Rich Harvest Farms which is less than 30 minutes from me so I might go watch that one in person.
