A big part of their launch was built on the assumed appeal of the egregiously uninteresting Kacie Hunt to a "young" demographic.

It would be difficult to imagine a bigger recent miscalculation in the world of corporate media, which is known for making massive miscalculations.

I think they're more transparent about what they are so I don't mind them. Sure it's all rah rah go team stuff for Democrats but i don't think they have illusions about being neutral arbitrators in the public square like CNN does.

MSNBC is more the network of PMC Democrats than the entire party itself. That it conflates itself with the entire party is one of its major failings.

On another note, however, the channel's main commentators definitely see themselves as purveyors of truth rather than neoliberal vassals using some unwieldy combination of identity politics and anti-Trump conspiracy theories to prop up a failing global economic system.
