I like how #53 hits or taunts the pitcher on the ground, then tries to quickly back away like nothing happened, only to have the pitcher get up and tackle him.

early takes....despite condensed spring training, pitching way ahead of hitting. most clubs have the 2 extra pitchers..cold weather or mlb did something with the super ball? yankees and phillies and sox with the hitters have subsequently disappointed...ohtani and trout (2 hrs. yesterday) aren't flying.

kris bryant, 50 ABs, no homers.

yankee nation ready to fully collapse on cole, today is a big start for him.

schwarber with the temper tantrum after getting called out on strikes in the bottom of the 9th by angel hernandez. schwarber tossed out by hernandez, who definitely needs his eyes checked. the phillies have been a huge disappointment - the hitting is piss-poor and the pitching spotty. stumpy schwarber's lack of speed kept the phillies playing station to station - not sent home from 2nd on a base hit...so, bases loaded with one out, the brewers got a foul pop out and then a strike out to extinguish the phillies' only hope for scoring...in this 1-0 brewer win.

the yankees are starting to hit, the phillies are not. rhys-hoskins was moved up in the order due to schwarber's poor start and is 0 for his last 20 with runners on. hideous. considering the money and talent - early season clubhouse meeting on the horizon. everyone trying for the homer...zero situational hitting.

Schwarber could have done the league a favor and just taken a 10 game suspension by pulling an Earl Weaver tirade on Hernandez.

The Phillies plan this year as always seems to be to win every game 8-7. But if they can't do anything besides swing for the fences each at bat they are doomed to fourth place forever.

yeah, you'd think that a manager like girardi would have these guys a bit more aware...this guy throws 88 on the black, you can murder him going to right field. it's not 1974 anymore - the players don't listen and moving runners up isn't a winner in arbitration. the phillies with fantastic hitting line-up and they are losing series to the marlins, rockies and brewers.

i believe the reds are better than a few NL clubs - their pitching is brutal. acquino, india and votto...not a bad trio. they had a tough start playing away to the dodgers and san diego. india is injured and votto and acquino seem to be plagued by the same malaise plaguing most hitters.

the worm has turn at some time and the reds beat wainwright and the cards yesterday.

Hernandez deserved the tongue-lashing, but the pitch from Hader that Hernandez rung up Schwarber on would have been a strike for any ump.

not much baseball tonight, but lots of late twists and turns in just about every game.

played the cards (+30) tonight and it looked great after the bottom of the 8th- until they gave the game away in the top of the 9th with uncharacteristic baseball. the reliever gallegos is the scapegoat here. failed to break to first on the 3rd out of the game. goldschmidt with a nice play on the line. mets scored the tying and go-ahead run on his bonehead play. the mets, first club to 13 wins.

i did get the blue jays - needed a late grand slam to win a sleepy game and also the angels. cleveland's rookie OF palacios, looked very good tonight.

phillies broke out after colorado took an early lead and the brewers wasted a very good preformance by burnes. the dodgers keep rolling...arizona has to have the weakest hitting 9 in the league. they would have been better off if the pitchers still batted. had a flurry of runs last week...just a mirage.

I think I'd stick with basketball while its still around. We already discussed this but its very difficult to be winner betting baseball. Dogs win once a series but often in a way to determine when it will happen.

yes, it is tough. a lot more unders and i've played them more than i ever have. didn't play any over/unders last night, went 2-1 in baseball, had to play the cardinals. tough loss.

went 3-0 in nba. got lucky on the nets. i don't have a good feel for the western conference, so tonight, a few baseball plays.

Thought Rizzo had had a three-hr game with the Cubs, but apparently tonight was his first.

went 2-4 tonight - lost 2 unders along with the cards and rays. won the phillies and braves. much more scoring tonight, has to be the heaviest scoring day in the majors this year. the mets appear to have their 1969 pitching staff assembled. some of these odds were terrifying - yankees and giants were 3-1, dodgers were -260. the braves were -80, but, they were playing the cubs.

yankees and phillies have come around hitting, the sox still in the hitting doldrums.

thinking about the cards again tomorrow and maybe cinci. tough-guy voit happened to go on the DL right before the red series. reds catcher tyler stephenson still out. they'll get voit sooner or later.

The 3 last years hbp team per game is trending slightly down '20- .46, '21- .43, '22- .42. I'd think there has to be some truth to his take on the balls though.

3-1 in baseball, lost the braves (-240). only put 1 unit on the braves, 3 units on the cardinals, 2 on the rays and 1 on the under twins/tigers. lost a teaser in the nba.

depending on the pitchers, definitely looking at 2 early dogs tomorrow - the pirates and reds. cards at home against arizona..i look for them to rip off 5-6 straight wins now.

the mets got angry today....had a batter hit in the ankle and the next inning - when down by 5 runs; they threw inside at aranado's face. didn't hit him..the old brushback. aranado didn't like it and both benches and bullpens emptied.

jeez. either hit the guy in thigh and your point was taken or let it go.

showalter tried to be slick, publicly said he wouldn't play alonso today after he got hit in the helmet yesterday. today, alonso at 1st, batting 4th. glad the cards won today - for a few reasons. the mets aren't winning 143 games this year.

that high heat to Arenado was definitely inside, but he seemed to embellish it a little. Reminded me of some of the early aughts Red Sox/Yankees beefs and I think it was Manny that acted like a shoulder height pitch slightly inside almost took his head off.

Just seemed very "Cardinals" to me, getting all pissy and red assed for the home crowd.

i can't argue with you, the mets and especially cards nation are despised around here. i do respect the cards history and in this particular case, i believe the mets pitcher should have hit him in the thigh - ok, warnings to the pitcher and both benches then and move on. speaking of the cards and their history - their 1st game loss to the mets was shocking. that's how the cubs would lose games for decades. an error by the 3rd baseman and then a bonehead play by the reliever; late covering 1st base - both on potential 3rd outs to end the game for a cardinal win. after losing game 2, the cards were due to win the 3rd game of the series. broke out for 10 runs.

looks like dog day afternoon today. i'm going to take the reds, pirates and nationals this afternoon.

tough day with dogs that are actually...dogs. doggy teams. each had a lead and couldn't hold it. played 1 unit each, lost all - reds ended up a pick, lost 20 juice on that. the 3 plays cost me 320, but i had a 4 unit winner on the cardinals (2-1), who have won me 7 units in 2 days. figured the cubs had a better pitcher than last night, feared taking the braves at -240 again - and the braves stroll to an easy win.
