Zachary Thomas. Not to be confused with Zach Tom.

He's more of a return specialist and you can't have enough of those.

Bears drafted a future car salesman or possibly CFL player with the 207th pick. Kramer is too tiny to ever play in the NFL.

Maybe they plan to convert him to LS.

I'm surprised that Poles hasn't purchased a WR lottery ticket with Ross from Clemson. He probably has no business in the league with his extensive injury situation but if by chance he somehow is healthy enough to regain form he would be a very useful weapon.

Ok, so early call on Poles here on how he evaluates talent.. I think he’s an athlete over football player type of guy. Calling it now. Granted, these are really late picks and that might not be fair.. but the Tenn WR he drafted seemed to fit this bill too.. not very productive at a skill position but really athletic.

Ryan Poles would have drafted Jarron Gilbert

I didn’t love the Brisker & Jones picks, but my takeaway is that Poles (correctly) realizes he needs to rebuild almost the entire roster. Who knows if any of these guys will succeed but he’s picking up a lot of guys to throw at the problem(s).

As B&B used to say, at least his tv works.

Right. Roster turnover and the more the better. Hope for the needle in the draft haystack.

Very surprised Oladukan was picked. I had already had him as a UDFA for the Bears.

Welp, another draft done and over. Don’t think they landed a single player this time around that I am excited about but this was always going to be a bit of a wash anyway.

Kinda bummed the Bears didn’t opt for David Bell at WR, watched him a bit in college and really love the dudes productivity -he shows up on film in other words. Not a take the top off a defense type of guy which obviously lead to him being a 3rd rounder but.. he’s a gamer. Browns got a good player there imo

Also a bit bummed the Bears didn’t grab a Guard with one of those 1st 3 picks, even a little shocked given all of Ryans talk about A. Building thru the draft and B. Building the lines..

Didn’t mind the late trade backs to take multiple swings at late players they liked on their draft board tho.. we’ll see how that works out

All but the center project as guards.

Maybe so.. but that has nothing to do with my disappointment over them not taking one within those 1st three picks.

Turning three picks into seven in a fairly homogenized draft seems like a great idea until you use the last one on a fucking punter.

Counterpoint: the bears will be doing a lot of punting this year.

Undoubtedly true, but I thought they already replaced O'Donnell with some stud punter.

Tank mode next season.

Also, are we concerned about the McCaskey’s having the capital to finance a stadium, and how that may affect spending the next couple years?

Not at all. When did the bears ever spend under the cap?

Poles is a fucking dumbass for not getting Fields any toys to play with via the draft or free agency. And toys doesn't mean overpaying someone. It means having professional players who can get open and catch balls on a consistent basis.

It makes sense if he doesn’t like Fields and wants him to flame out so he can draft his own QB

Why not use the first two picks on offensive players? The league is becoming more and more about offense and the Bears can't even score 20 points. How many times are we gonna use the same playbook of defensive + running game?

Foles being released.

Mike Garafolo
@MikeGarafolo
The #Bears have agreed to release QB Nick Foles, his agent Justin Schulman confirmed. The team’s new regime decided to allow Foles to find his next home rather than continue to search for a trade partner. “Ryan Poles did the classy thing and Nick appreciates it,” Schulman said.

Usually you tank TO get the franchise QB, not after you get the QB…this is pretty unprescidented

I do agree Bob, but maybe they know Fields sucks or they have directives to tank.

No, it doesn't make sense. What would make sense is for him to trade a QB he doesn't like or sign someone to compete with that QB. This is an 0-17 roster. No one deliberately tries to go 0-17.
