He brought an unproven Fields in to get an idea of what receivers he likes in the draft. He praises Mooney and Roquan every chance he gets. I don't think he cares much about anyone else yet.

That should be more of a comfort imho.

I'm good with Poles right now.

It's maddening to hear Parkins and Spiegel talk about how it's likely the Bears will win 5-6 games this year and Fields will still have "superstar" and "all-pro" potential.

I agree with whoever stated that (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky's second year stat line is the bare minimum acceptable for Fields next year -- regardless of what players he has to work with -- though I suppose I would accept less if the Bears happened to surprise with 9-10 wins.

How he looks at the end of this season is how I'll judge him going forward. I'm praying that at worst he looks like a starting quarterback. At least you can build on that with elite talent at WR and/or TE.

Hard to argue with the body of work so far.

Your trolling effort? It could be better, but I think you already know that.

Maybe Duane Brown or Hicks.

You can keep the rest.

One of the few times I've agreed with Bernstein lately, if a likely playoff team offers a 2nd round pick for Quinn, Poles pretty much has to take it. Although I'd ask for a conditional 5th if the 2nd ends up being pick 60-64 and Quinn plays a certain number of snaps.

Never thought Hicks fit with the new regime which is preaching a team oriented defense and will likely want the players to commit to being in shape.

Do think he can be very effective in the right situation, with the right number of snaps, but only if he is committed and in shape.

I totally agree with your assessment.

In shape, he is an immovable force and a guy that teammates seem to look up to. Being able to collapse a pocket isn't discussed enough. Everyone wants that outside guy.
