I’m encouraged that next week’s mid-season finale was written and directed by Thomas Schnauz, the same person who did last season’s excellent first episode (Magic Man). I rewatched that to refresh my memory on some details and was struck by how good it was compared to most of this season.

I can't believe how long this show has been running. It's because so little happened in these 6 seasons. Sometimes I think that some of the things they refer to was in breaking bad. LIke when Lalo went out to Germany, I was thinking wait a minute, they didnt have these guys in Breaking Bad. Then I realized it was like season 3 of Saul.

When is the 2nd half of the final seasons supposed to air?

Yawn. Knew what would happen once they showed the candle flame when hamlin walked in.

Ending was a synopsis of the entire series. 58 min of silliness and 2 min of story.

Now we have to wait another month for this show to done with. Good riddance.

Sorry you guys are finding this slow and disappointing....I'm not.
I do agree the crusade against Howard is not the best storyline, but it could be worse.

I keep laughing about the intro to Episode 4 "hit and run" with the couple on the bicycle ride. Not sure how that was written but it cracked me up.

The title of last night's show was pretty devastating in hindsight.

I was able to watch it earlier today. The biggest thing I was crusty about was all the spoilers online this morning, some of them in the description of the article. I was trying to avoid the ending getting ruined and couldn't even do that. I take some of the blame but these writers trying to get the scoop and clicks is a little bogus in my opinion.

The actress who plays Kim really displeases me. Not sure why. I seen her outside the show on youtube and she looks fine. But the way they make her look on the show is unappealing.

I feel the opposite. Doesn't do much for me in real life, but is hot as Kim.

Another horrible episode only made worse by the way the plan ended. Saul and Kim acting like ruining Howard's life was no big deal was the worst part.

I liked it. The Sandpiper plot payoff was amusing. The ending was fine.

As Howard said himself, he would have ultimately been okay. This was Kim and Jimmy taking a stand against the stereotypical scumbag lawyers who don't have their clients' best interests at heart but would rather milk them for as much money as possible. Ironically, it was Kim and Jimmy who Lalo thought of when he saw the cockroach.

the whole Hamlin plot was stupid.

Lalo killing Hamlin and Saul/Kim giving a shit was more stupid.

another bit of visual play (i can't take credit for analyzing it): howard showing the intern how to calm (silence) the can of soda by twisting it. lalo twisting the silencer before offing howard.

also, there was one lingering shot of the portrait of charles as howard left the mediation meeting, both casualties of slippin' jimmy.

That seems to be a huge stretch. It was revenge and would have hurt Howard significantly.

He probably hopes the second half of the season isn't terrible like the first one was.

Don't hate on Observer the one time every couple weeks he makes a good few posts.

The rest of the show has to be about what happens to Lalo and Kim, so it’ll at least be half decent.

Spoilers...

I read one of the producers saying this past episode is like a swinging gate that opens up the final six episodes. What that means (aside from yeah, duh) is hard to say. The first question is obviously whether Kim makes it out of the room alive. I don't see them killing her off with 5-6 episodes left. I would also be disappointed if Mike somehow shows up at the apartment and kills Lalo, though it seems that he is the frontrunner to kill Lalo at some point. A few other questions:

How do they get rid of Howard's body? Will he be "disappeared" so everyone thinks he left town in shame (or killed himself)?

I also saw a producer (or someone associated with the show) say that Gene will be a part of the final half-season. That could imply that he reunites with Kim back in Omaha.

Will we see Tuco again? Don Eladio?

Do we know for sure that Lalo dies? Seems likely given his absence in BB, but it’d be awesome if he somehow survived for another spinoff.

If he doesn't die, he's clearly rendered powerless. Because we know Fring becomes the kingpin.

"The Salamanca name dies with you" -Gus Fring

Both Gus and Hector would have to believe that Lalo is dead based on that line.

But, theoretically, he could be married to Kim and living in Omaha during the events of BB.

I like to think he settled down in Germany with Ziegler’s wife.

Mike won't show up and kill Lalo at the apartment.
Lalo likely survives, or has an ambiguous end.
Saul was worried that Lalo sent Walt and Jesse when he was first introduced.

Not a huge fan of the core plot of the show (Goodman's evolution) even though I like the other subplots, specifically all things cartel.

This is the first time we've seen Lalo kill an innocent on screen, right? For all the violence that's implied about him, I don't think we've seen him kill an innocent until now. The travel dude and the Mexican couple were killed off screen. Idk if the German dude died or not. Off screen. The only people I've seen Lalo kill before Howard were the mercenaries.
