I enjoyed it BIGLY

Except the only way the gran inquisitor attempted murder works is if Vader is giving Reva orders to find Kenobi at all costs.

I liked it...it looked and felt like Star Wars, including the music. Question (and spoiler...):

Why did Third Sister (TS) think that kidnapping Leia would draw Kenobi out? As far as I can recall, Vader does not know about Luke or Leia at this point and it's been 10 years since they were born. It sounded like TS wants to bring Kenobi to Vader on her own to gain favor, not because Vader ordered it. Even the other Inquisitors are skeptical that Kenobi is alive.

She does it because she knows Kenobi is friends with Jimmy Smits and Organa might call him, not because she knows Leia is Anakin’s daughter.

I agree it felt like starwars more than Mandolorian. I did like boba fett show for the most part except for the 2 episodes that were filler.

I seriously don’t understand why so MANY want action all the time, and have no patience for the construction of a plot.

I blame Covid for ruining the lot of you.

I liked the Kenobi actor this time around. He seems to have matured. Maybe he needed the gig too and is trying to do well so he can get the next movie/tv gig.

Hey I am all for plot and telling a story. Personally I just thought it kind of dragged in spots and I didn't like the babysitting the brat aspect of it. There was some good dialogue that came from it overall but her running away from the bad guys and from Kenobi in the city was just too contrived and drawn out. She wasn't even fast. Kenobi should have been able to grab her easily. I certainly don't want to pick nits, I am glad they are telling the story but with 33% of the show over with, the first act if you will it just didn't get over the bar I set for it after literally years of build up. It can still be a very good mini-series and part of the Star Wars canon, this padawan just needs a little patience to see what happens I guess.

Sometimes shows aren't good. Kenobi is fine currently. Like Isaac in Moon Knight, a good actor in a good role can take you pretty far. Yes, there's some suspension of disbelief issues with every goon on the planet knowing what he looks like and he still runs around with his hood lowered for 75% of it while they can't catch a 10 year old girl prancing around. I'm supremely woke, but Reva is either a trash actress or her character is written like garbage, because she's not working. The rooftop scene with her reminds me of the Holy Grail scene where the dude keeps running to the castle but never gets closer. She's up there on the rooftop Batman parkouring around seemingly forever, but she never gets there. 4 more shows to really decide, but since the rest of the Inquisitors look like grade A chumps, maybe it is the writing and not her. Leia's pretty good for a kid actor and I'm always glad to get off Tatooine. The Owen/3rd Sister/Obi-wan scene was done well. There's a lot of good CGI scenes, but Alderaan looks dull. Do love the costuming.

There is one way her character could pay off really well IMO.

Sure, the Youngling thing was put there at the beginning of the 1st episode for a reason. Does a good reveal make up for a bad start? There isn't a good answer other than "I'll know when I see it."

I get the Inquisitors in Rebels are garbage, Ahsoka can take them all on at the same time, a Padawan of Padawan can hold them off, Maul just eats their breakfast, but they could at least show a little more menace than killing a Jedi offscreen.

Ok let’s take the youngling angle a bit further.

What if Reva is doing the most so she can get an audience with Vader.

Which leads to an assassination attempt that ultimately leads to her death.

This is the only way I will accept the character.

Guessing she's one of the Padawans at the temple and escapes. Does Anankin spare her for some reason? That seems doubtful, but there's some reason she knows Anakin is Vader and knows telling Obi-Wan that Anakin is alive as Vader is going to mess him up. If that's true or not, my woke radar is going with a heroic sacrifice for Reva anyway, so we don't have the nice African American lady end as a villain. Inquisitors are usually scrub tier failed Jedis, a Padawan that never finished training fits the type.

Why is SW talking about racism? There have been MANY black characters in SW and I don't recall anyone complaining about them being black. This is ridiculous...and I agree it would actually be racist of SW to feel they can't make her a villain because she's black -- so I think you are probably right that she'll end up being heroic.

Yes Rian Johnson wrecked that character.

Finn was originally supposed to be force sensitive, and Rey’s love interest.

However, there were some rumors last year Finn may get his own D+ show.

Well the sequel trilogy was largely terrible.

I can’t blame people for turning on the creatives in charge after breathtaking exposition like this:

Not bad for a start.

The problem is that most of his story is already told. We know how it begins or at least how it begins when he meets Anakin. We know how it ends. It's doing a series on what would probably 10 minutes of storytelling had it been included in the movies.

Ultimately, we get to see Darth Vader again, and probably some cool fight scenes, and maybe the Mandalorian stops by for a cameo and that is good enough.

Variety.... 5 stars
-"Good enough"
-"Turned 10 minutes worth of storytelling into an entire series"

Loved it. I was hoping it was not filmed like Mando and Fett. Mando was fine, but Fett to me was a big let down. I expected a bad ass Boba Fett and not some broken down old man who finds salvation in the desert.

Kenobi feels like a Star Wars story and love that he is scarred by the events in the prequals. He is a broken man whos only purpose up to this point is to wait and train Luke as a Jedi to repair the damage he did to the force failing Anakin.

SPOILER

Kenobi has been punishing himself for 10 years after the fall of the Jedi's and has to make a choice to save Leia and become a Jedi again or continue down the path of regret and guilt.

Enjoying the depth of Kenobi's character and the ones effected by Order 66.

There's a lot of people saying it's a good portrayal of PTSD, no idea, so I'll take their word for it.

there has been tons of bad acting in the star war shows/movies. she's not great but she's not the worst. I did watch it feeling like she was a bit weak as an actress. but whatever they can't all be winners.

full disclosure, i'll watch anything star wars laid in front of me and be generally happy. i watched all of the droids and ewoks cartoons with my 4 year old and was quite happy. until we get shows dedicated to transexual kid toucher droids I'll likely continue to watch whatever they shove my way.
