Good summer movie. Very entertaining and completely forgettable. Didn't even waste anyone's time by going over 2 hours.

I think this was meant to be slapstick, because that is certainly how it played. It must have made Christian Bale crazy to be the only actor who seemed to care about his performance. He's been able to be both funny while playing his character earnestly in several movies.

looks like life has been good for Kat Dennings. She's probably a little young to have given up but, what the heck, she has all kind of FU money from that TV show. No reason to live by hollywood standards.

on that note, what the fuck has happened to Russel Crow? He's only 58 years old. He used to be a great actor and one of those ruggedly handsome guys who could play action heroes until he is 70. He's sitting there at 58 giving not a fuck about being a professional. That Greek accent was frightening. I would have said it was fine for the campy character of this movie but then it looks like he will have a significant role in the next Thor.

There was too much talent in this cast to not have properly played both serious and comic book.

now that we know Disney is including agendas into its movies as a matter of corporate policy, it wasn't surprising to see the moment shoehorned awkwardly into the story. The hetero relationship between Thor and Jane had to be balanced. It was so necessary to Disney that they took a character from a race that reproduces asexually, and so has no biological sexes, and made him have two dads. Whatever. People are gay and it is good to have representations on film. Can we at least try to have some bit of coherence so it doesn't look like you plopped that minute of narrative into the show for some reason other than you want to change the attitudes of these stupid people from flyover states.

a more conspiratorial person would say the treatment of the concept of god in this movie was intentionally subversive to theism in the world, rather than just part of the campy story line. There was one moment where Gorr asks Jane about her prayers about curing her cancer not being answered where it implied not the pantheon of the movie but monotheism of the "real" world. Luckily, I'm not so conspiratorial.

and does that hammer cure Jane, not cure Jane or temporarily cure Jane because, for a semi critical piece of info, they sure addressed it poorly. Every time she picks up the hammer it drains her energy but at the same time it makes her completely superstrong. OK?

and also, Thor can just make everyone Thor? That would have been great to know over the last decade of watching his adventures where he could have really used the help of mini Thors. Oh, and wait, why did they need to travel to Ominipotence if he could make his own Thor army?

finally Tessa Thompson sucks as an actress but she must have a professional guardian angel in the industry
