I get what you are saying but a couple problems I see.

The fans were fed up with GarPax for a long time before he actually did anything.

And LaRussa seems to be his hand picked choice to be the manager. He is not going to go against that because of a few chants.

That assumes he is incapable of accepting that he has made a mistake or changing his mind. I don’t think you get to his position in life without those traits.

Edit: I think it’s possible that Tony will “step away” to save face for both of them.
