I am all in on trading for DK Metcalf as long as any first round pick given up is for 2024. Even with his foot injury. I have no interest in giving up draft capital and giving Terry McLaurin a big contract.

Is there a rumor of a possible trade happening or just what you would like to see happen

Metcalf wants to be traded. Both are holding out for new contracts. The rumors of potential trade destinations are all over the internet.

We don't have a need at receiver we have future HOF candidate Darnell Mooney and Velus "MotherFucker'" Jones.

That's true, but having a guy who was raised as a Bear and who isn't a midget wouldn't hurt.

Raised as a Bear?

In general I am against trading away more first round picks. But if you are going to do it then getting back a 24 yr old stud in return would be good.

No use for McLaurin. I would definitely not do it for him.

Like actually raised by bears in the woods, or grew up a Bears fan?

His father is Terence Metcalf. He was a Bear when DK was a pup.

Shit offensive tackles is a much bigger problem. Too bad you can't trade for those

Acquiring Metcalf goes against Poles' strategy of acquiring players rated 57 or less in Madden.

I don't think Fields' rating is that low.

He's unrestricted in 2023, has given indications he'd like to be a bear and the beloved will have money to burn. I'd wait this one out.

Poles didn't acquire Fields.

Bears trade for a guy today!!!!

Ian Rapoport
@RapSheet
At long last, the #Patriots trade former first-rounder N'Keal Harry and it’s the #Bears as his landing spot for a 2024 7th rounder, per me and
@MikeGarafolo
. A solid upside move for Chicago, while New England moves on with a strong group itself.

It's nice to see the Bears trade a 7th rounder for a 1st rounder instead of the other way around.

not bad

I really liked him coming out of asu. I think he got in belicek's doghouse early and could never get out. He has starter ability.

Dude is SLOOOOOW and really doesn't win many jump balls for being 6'4. He may be the Bears 2nd best receiver now.

Belichick fleeces the Bears, he was planning to cut N'Keal Harry. Bears gave up draft capital for Belichick's table scraps. Also, Harry sucks:

Belichick was walking his trash out to the curb and Ryan Poles pulled up and offered Bill $100 for the bag of trash.

A former first rounder who has potential. There were going to be several teams interested in him if he was cut. So it is perfectly reasonable to give up the lowest compensation possible in order to not have to deal with negotiating against other teams.

Who was interested in N'Keal Harry? Pats been trying to ship him out of town for 2 years. Harry is 6 months younger than Velus Jones, so there's that. But 3 seasons, 3 QB's, including the GOAT QB and Harry compiles squat for stats. It's like Ryan Poles paid Belichick a 7th rounder for the privilege of the Bears cutting Harry from their roster instead of the Patriots.

I am sure you have a good handle on the fact that no team other than the Bears was interested in a former first round pick.

I couldn't even tell you from memory who the Bears took in the 7th round in 2021. And they probably had 3 picks.

At that price, I'm fine with it. Poles will probably trade down to acquire 5 7th rd picks anyway
