So I guess that's that. Get rid of him while you can and let it all come out in the wash in 10 years.

Is this the board stance? Buehrle was never bad? Probably the same people who wanted to run him outta town in 2006.

Let's run Giolito out of town. It's OBVIOUS he's weak. He's had 3 bad starts. That would never happen to HOF Buehrles. He gets guys out drunk, for chrissake.

Trade him for a nice player and he will win a World Series for the team to whom he is traded, just like Sale.

I'm frustrated that he has seemed to give back leads all season.

I'd still sign him long term if he were open to it. We haven't even discussed that in the three year period you reference, he has also been durable. He also was great in his 2020 playoff appearance.

Sale is in different class than good ole Lucas.

Yeah...Sale was a #1 on a World Series team. Lucas is a #3 on a World Series team.

Agreed.

He'd be lucky to be a #3 at this point. He sucks.

He looks like he's lost both confidence and his release point. I took the over in runs. Should have taken the Jays in a parlay, but thought the Sox might also hammer their starter. Hasn't happened yet.

If only he could work with his long time pitching coach to find that release point...

The bulking up and the resulting injury seem to have thrown him off.

Or he's a mental midget and a bust like quite a few of these Sox guys.

I hate to be so glass half empty, but there is very little to be positive about with this year's squad. Cleveland went on the run the Sox were supposed to go on. Its clear the 2022 White Sox are mediocre at best.

5.36 ERA and counting. Little more than three bad starts.

All things considered it wasn’t an awful outing. We praised Cease a few weeks ago for getting through 5 without great stuff. Giolito looked like dogshit today but he left the game with the Sox still in it.

That’s a gutty performance for a guy who looks like he forgot how to throw a baseball.

Yes three runs over five innings in Colorado isn't terrible. But he put his team behind the eight ball when they were already short two relievers by getting them down early and not being able to cover more than 15 outs. At best he is a number 3 on a good team, on a great team he's probably a number four. If he's your number one or two you don't have a very good team. And you know what? The Sox don't have a very good team.

He's not a 5? Who's worse? Lynn? Why you backtracking? I thought he was cooked.

If the Sox had to set a playoff rotation right now would he even been in the top 3? I doubt it.

Cease would be the clear #1.

Some combo of Cueto, Lynn and Kopech would be before Lucas.

That is hard to fathom considering it was not that long ago he was viewed as the ace of the staff moving forward with this core.

Lynn would definitely be the 5th starter. Cease and Kopech are 1 and 2. Then you flip a coin with Lynn and Cueto.

Cease is #1
The way he is throwing right now, Cueto is your #2
Kopech #3
Lynn #4

Giolito doesnt make the WC/ALDS roster
