What happened? When I left for church it seemed he was on cruise control.

11-14 just killed him. He double bogeyed on 11, got in some ruff and couldnt get out of it. Then went on to bogey 12, 13, and 14. He rebounded at the end to get back to -2.

Man looked like Rahm was going to end with a lot of momentum and now he has hit a wall at 18.

This course is something.

Tomorrow is going to be a lot of fun.

I have no idea why they haven't had this tournament at this place since 1988. I suppose it's logistics related to accommodate crowds, parking, etc. because the property is small. Give me this venue over Chambers Bay or Erin Hills any day. This is a U.S. Open. Can't wait for tomorrow.

Definitely. It needs to be in a regular rotation to host. I wondered about that this afternoon and found this:

https://www.golfdigest.com/story/us-ope ... apoag-2022

Good article on some of the history of this question. And if they article is to be believed it doesnt sound like there will be that long of a wait to get the Open back there in the future.

Love it when they have these at the classic courses such as this or Merion. There are a handful of courses that over 100 years old and have stood the test of time. Here’s where they are scheduled currently. I don’t know anything about the LA course but Pinehurst should be great. It’s on my short list for my next bucket list course. Just not sure I want to drop $600 for one round of golf.

I’d like an American to win but I have a feeling it’s going to be Fitzpatrick

Rahm and Rory look finished.

Appears to be a back 9 battle between Scheffler and Fitz. Maybe someone else will get hot and make a 3 way dance

And the craziness continues.

Scheffler and Fitzpatrick stumble.

Zalatoris has come on.

Going to be a fun finish

A lot can happen and Z is in some trouble off the tee. He has some weird putting things going on. He’s making them but there were a few strokes he double clutched. Wait for the pressure to build.

If there’s a tie, anybody know if they go straight to a playoff? That’d be electric.

I can’t find anything online but seems unlikely they’d wait til Monday with the new format.

I found this from 2021, so I am assuming it is the same.

Quote:
The US Open playoff format is no longer sudden death. Rather, it's a new two-hole aggregate-score playoff, meaning that the competitors will play immediately after regulation ends on Sunday in search of the US Open trophy. If any players in the playoff are tied after two holes, they go to sudden death to determine a winner.

Fitz has been hitting frozen ropes all day. It should be interesting to see these putts

Pretty cool to see the emotion on his caddy. That has to be an amazing feeling after all these years

Probably gets more amazing when the check clears.

Didn't even realize until I saw it today that he hit 17 of 18 greens. That is really tough to do under those conditions. It would be nice if they came back to this course again sooner than 34 years.
