Poles should rehire Soup so he can fire him again.

The Bears are going to run the ball a lot next season. Pringle and Harry are 2 of the best block wide receivers in the NFL.

Korfist is one of the best coaches around when it comes to developing speed.

They will run the ball a lot because they can’t pass. Good luck with that.

Maybe he can get that 4.63 down to a 4.6.

They were able to run the ball with Nagy successfully even though teams knew they were running. I don't think Getsy could be worse.

Montgomery should hire someone to help him see the field better. Herbert seemed to find holes much better than Montgomery did last season.

Field Yates
@FieldYates
The Bears worked out veteran OL Michael Schofield. He spent last season with the Chargers and has 86 career games of experience.

PFF has him 39th out of 82 Guards last season.

I'm not sure Poles is super enthusiastic about re-signing Roquan. It will be interesting to see how this goes.

I can understand not wanting to pay the "fat" linebacker with unknown mental health issues. I would have preferred trading him on Draft Day.

Bears 2nd round pick this year Jaquan Brisker holding out too. His agent thinks because the Alabama player selected right before Brisker in the draft got a chunk of 3rd year guarantee money Brisker should too. Alabama players always gonna get paid. Brisker needs to get his Lackawanna College ass in camp. Nobody guaranteeing 3rd year money for any Lackawanna alums. Saints aren't even guaranteeing the guy who went right after Brisker-- Alontae Taylor--3rd year money; and Taylor's at least SEC.

We're not talking about a significant amount of guaranteed money. There's a very small chance he won't be on the team in his 3rd year. Give him the money.

Brisker signed his deal.

Next up, Trade Teven 'the enforcer' Jenkins, a 2nd round pick in 2023 and a 3rd round pick in 2024 for Orlando Brown Jr.

It seems incredibly unlikely that Poles will be trading away draft picks for veterans in the next couple of years. His goal seems to be to acquire as many picks as possible.

Fun fact: Roquan Smith is only 33 days older than Velus Jones.

The offensive line should be about average with the additions of Reiff and Schofield.

Now the pressure is on Getsy to develop an offensive scheme that emphasizes Fields's strengths---and Fields to execute within the scheme.

Gary Davenport of Bleacher Report thinks the Bengals should steer clear of bringing Reiff back to the Queen City.

Given the beating that Joe Burrow took in 2021, it might seem odd that the Cincinnati Bengals should part ways with a veteran offensive tackle with 139 starts to his credit.

But the reality is that Riley Reiff played a part in that beating Burrow took last year, and the first step in the offensive line makeover should be letting Reiff walk in free agency.

At 33, Reiff is well past his prime, and while he’s not a bad right tackle, he’s also not a great one—he allowed four sacks in just over 700 snaps last season. Durability is a concern, too—Reiff missed five games in 2022 and was sidelined for Cincinnati’s run to Super Bowl LVI.

As mentioned above, Reiff had some rough days at the office. That certainly plays into why the team shouldn’t re-sign him but also, as Davenport alluded to, Reiff is on the wrong side of 30 now. He’s entering his age-33 season and the injuries at the end of the 2021 season are concerning. He missed a total of nine games (including the postseason) and that injury might make it tough for Reiff to be a starting-caliber tackle again.

Reiff has played right tackle for the last three years after starting his career at left tackle. I assume the Bears intend to play him at RT but are using him as an insurance policy in case Braxton Jones flops at LT. Whatever the case, this doesn't seem like good news for Jenkins and Borom.

He seems to have played pretty decently last season and is a good run blocker. I like the addition of a veteran here to force Jenkins and Borom into a more intense competition. This move puts additional pressure on both of those guys.

I think he provides great veteran depth if either takes the spot or a competent starter if either fails.

Despite all the smoke blowing, I'd be shocked if Braxton Jones is ready to be a day 1 starter at LT.

I agree, it's difficult to see Jones starting to open the season. The competition between Reiff, Schofield, Jenkins, Borom, Jones, Thomas, and Carter should be interesting. Borom may still emerge as the starting LT.

I hope both Borom and Jenkins grab the starting spots with strong camps.

That would be the ideal situation.

Nice signings this week.

These signings and where the Bears had Jenkins playing in OTA's tells me that Poles doesn't like him. I would be shocked if Borom wasn't a starter.
