Almost all golf on TV is a snoozefest (going to an event in person though is a true joy) but that women's final round on sunday was really entertaining.

I watch a lot of women's golf. It's actually a decent way to learn while watching as their swing speeds are closer to ours than the guys on the PGA.

I do occasionally watch the majors. You are correct that there is a lot to pick up from the women especially with their short games.

What I like about it is that it is still golf. Yeah, they don't hit it as far, but other than that there really isn't much of a difference. Same with women's tennis. They are playing the same game - they just don't hit it as hard. It's not like watching the WNBA where there is an obvious difference in talent and skill.

I love the DP tour, when I wake up at 5:00 in the morning it is on, it works out great to have my donuts and Diet Pepsi.

I am totally pulling for him.

2 under thru first 6 today. Would be great to see him make the cut somehow.

Agree. Great story. Rooting for him.
He just birdied the first after nearly holding out from the fairway. If he can play -3 from here on out, he will likely play the weekend

-7, 64, tied for 16th.

Way to go, Morgan!

A top 10 would go a long way for him.

Poston is playing lights out, but 8 back over two days is possible. Make a move today and he could have a legit shot to win tomorrow.

I didn't see any of it but this LIV golf is kind of a joke thus far. Last event in Portland was at a nice course but MANY wouldn't consider it suitable for a professional golf event. Anyway..... The winner shot -13 after 54 total holes. Nice shooting. $4 million dollar check. Only 15 of the 48 players broke par out there. $374,000 for a -1 score. Nine guys shot +10 or worse including Mickelson. Last place shot +21 and went home with $120,000. A lot of these guys would be foolish not to take the money and run but I don't think there are a lot of people that want to watch this on TV.

I wonder how long it can last. At some point the Saudis have to ask themselves what type of product are we actually getting for all this money?

I am laughing at Mickelson, +20 thru the 1st 2 events.

They have to get a TV deal with someone, and I can't wait to see how many "franchises" they sale and who the hell buys them.

This actually makes some sense for Feherty, who I enjoy quite a bit. He was never going to rise above on course commentator status at any of the major networks. Have they mentioned who was actually going to be carrying any LIV golf events? I hadn't seen anything on that and they don't mention any tv networks. I don't see any of the major networks or Golf Channel broadcasting this in fear it would put any future PGA Tour business in jeopardy. There is a brief note that Charles Barkley might get involved as well. This makes no sense to me at all since he brings nothing golf related to the table.

While this is true, his show on Golf Channel is likely GONE and the same might happen with this Feherty Live tours.

Yeah, I don’t know how that’s going to shake out, other than having a prominent role on the online coverage to start.

I would guess the only major US broadcast conglomerate that could pick LIV up would be Fox…?

His Golf Channel show already was canceled; there’s some chatter that Feherty made this decision a while back.

You may be on to something there if they want to go down that path.... Found this online

On June 29, 2020, it was announced that Fox Sports had opted out of the remaining seven years of its contract to cover USGA events, and had sold the remainder of the contract to NBC Sports.

I don't get the Golf Channel anymore and haven't for a few years so I guess I didn't realize he was off the air. Always liked Rymer quite a bit.... glad he is feeling better

Meh... still think it will be interesting to see if The Masters falls in line with the PGA Tour or if they allow past champions to play and tell the PGA to fuck off.

Same here on Rymer. The switch from Gary William and Rymer to Shane Bacon and Damon Hack caused me to stop watching Morning drive. The only thing I watch now are the tournaments.

Isn’t a win worth a lifetime exemption and membership at Augusta? I can’t see them giving the heisman to a member over the PGA v LIV beef.

Knowing the Masters , I can guess what the answer to that will be .

It is a lifetime exemption but membership is not included as far as I know. They wouldn't have much trouble stopping to play as a guest thought I am pretty sure. Just interested to see if "lifetime exemption" supercedes the LIV Golf policy. I suspect that it should and The Masters folks are pretty self important on their turf so I suspect they will do whatever they want. Whether that is to uphold the exemption or not is what I just don't know.

I think the past Champions are safe. Guys who need to qualify otherwise, maybe not so much. Somebody who is in the top ten and should garner an invite the following season may not get invited. I could totally see that type of thing happening.

I turned on the Liv tour today. Quiet, boring and seems like more of an exhibition than a tournament.

Not sure who’s going to watch this or care about it.
