i don't think it'll be that close, nas. i think the bears'll win this one by at least 10. they've got some momentum, they'll carry it through here.

How could the Bears defense save them by giving up 28 points? Isn't our defense supposed to be good? Giving up 28 points to one of the worst teams in the league wouldn't be saving the day.

I think this is a game dominated by our running game, including Jones having a big day against his old team.

Bears win 27-17.

The Bears do their typical squander opportunity thing, I imagine they'll lose 27-24 in OT. Another "Why are we starting you again?" game for Orton, and Detroit doesn't play well but our mistakes end up making them look good. But who knows.

So far I think I'm 0-4 this season predicting the Bear games. They've won what they should have lost and vice versa.
Detroit still sucks. 28-21 Bear.

Because our corners are banged up. Johnson and Williams will take advantage of that.

But how can the Bears defense save the day while giving up 28 points to a very bad team?

Sounds like not giving up 32 or more points isn't something to be proud of.

Devin Hester really scares me this year. He looks like he's trying to do to much and not flowing like he used to.
Not trying to bitch yet, just an observation.

The Lions are fucking terrible. If the Bears don't win this by at least 10-14 points, thats pathetic.

That said, Bears 24-23

Why the hell are they challenging this? They got the pass interference, so having this overturned doesn't help them at all, it could only hurt them, costing them a timeout and a challenge.

Edit. Got them 5 extra yards, so maybe it was worth it

It seemed like a pretty obvious completion. It adds to the stats for both Orton and Booker. While it is a little meaningless given the pass interference, it shows the confidence in the players by the coaching staff and adds morale. If they didn't get it overturned, they still have the ball down deep and lose a time out. Given the situation, it was probably worth it, a lost timeout now wouldn't hurt that bad.

Looks like I drew the wrong week to face the Bears D in fantasy (granted I have Carolina today...).

Kevin Jones looks like he's getting faster by the week. He will be needed at some point this year for more than backup duty.

Hester has looked like shit all year on returns so far. I think the defense really wanted to shut the Lions out, and Hester threw that out the window.

Orton has had a hellava game.

An easy Bears win is disappointing only from the point of view that it negates any angst and vitriol on this board and makes the thread a lot less entertaining.

Hester has been bad on returns but he showed up with some nice receptions. Nice job Falcons!

Towards the end of the game, Orton really appeared to catch his stride. He was really throwing some darts there. Hopefully, he can start playing like this more consistently.
