I don't hate every pick. I loved the Fields pick.

It is very odd how quickly he seemingly has flamed out. As was noted before the draft, he was almost universally considered to be a late 1st/early 2nd round prospect with a solid upside. Unless there's some underlying (continuing) injury, you would think he'd have value to some other team that had also him ranked highly. Maybe it's attitude but that seemingly would have shown up in talks with his college coaches.

This sounds pretty similar to the way Jenkins' back problems started last year.

Speigel and Grote suggesting that Jenkins realizes that he isnt part of the plan here and is sitting out of practice to try and get traded

Sounds more believable then anything Spiegel would say.

The whole, "day to day, should be back tomorrow", stuff is the same thing they did last year before suddenly saying he needed surgery.

Was surprised to hear that he still has not been cleared to do certain things? Kinda seems that playing OT in the NFL is not a great idea if you have limitations, do you just ask the very large and very angry man that is trying to take your head off to please not push you a certain way so you don't twist your back improperly? Disc issues can flare back up for normal people that work jobs where they can avoid twisting or bending a certain way, but NFL OT is not one of those jobs.

Kaplan says Jenkins doesn't have a significant injury; rather, the problem is a "disconnect" with the coaching staff, particularly Chris Morgan. The Bears view him as their most talented offensive lineman, but think he is "wildly immature."

"Most talented lineman" is that true or just something you say to preserve trade value.

He has no trade value.

Doing reports from your kitchen in order to show off your zero zone fridge.

What a chuckle head.

It's probably part of his arrangement with Abt.

It's interesting how many people want to shoot the messenger regarding anything negative with Jenkins. Kap has made himself into an easy target as well though. My favorite phrase applies here, time will tell.

No way in the world do they view him as their most talented lineman.

#Bears practice has wrapped up today. OL Teven Jenkins was not spotted for the 4th consecutive practice.

This morning on M&H, Biggs sounded like he thinks the issue is actually medically related and not a personality conflict with the team/coaches.

I trust Biggs' opinion more than Kap's.

Feel bad for my guy J Hood, he's saddled with the Kapster and I don't think even he can overcome that level of suckage, did hear him on a national pod talking about pro wrestling and he sounded great, but that's not why I called.

The Jenkins thing, first of all the team does the kid no favors by not actually saying what's going on with him which leads to open speculation, of course will throw my two cents in and guess it's related to the back, back issues frequently crop back up for regular people if they turn or twist a certain way, let alone for an NFL offensive lineman who is twisted in awkward angles consistently. There is also a likely limitation on some of the heavy power lifting type stuff lineman need to do in order to stop other 300-pound angry men from shoving them to the ground. One would think this would make him very susceptible to injury unless he builds core strength and hamstring strength/flexibility, oddly the Bears coaching approach last year to have the dudes put on all kinds of weight likely did more harm to him because his injury requires core training to build up support for the back.

Schefter still saying Jenkins will be traded prior to the regular season opener.

He is likely their best option at right guard and possibly at right tackle as well.

If they dump him for next to nothing, it would be a horrible move by Poles.

Rapoport still saying Jenkins will be traded prior to the season.

That would be quite a shock at this point; Schofield hasn't practice with the first team in quite some time, at least according to the Bears beat reporters.

If true, I have mixed feelings. I love the shrewdness in the way the Bears increased his value to trade him. I think he may be good though.
