Gil Hodges had quite a few of his ex '69 Mets & deceased player's wives at his hof induction ceremony. I've always heard he was a remarkable man. Very highly regarded. A bronze star recipient for heroism at the Battle of Okinawa. His daughter was speaking that after the miracle Mets won Hodges & his wife were in his Mets office. His wife recommended that he called his mother. He said I better not that the call would be long distance. I better wait until we get home.

Listened to MLB radio 10 minutes talking about all the Texas Rangers firings. They didn't mention "bad money" once. The woman host commented "we don't even know if the free agents (more than half a billion dollars) will be with the team. Needless to say there was a deafening silence.

Donaldson pulled a David Bote last night and hit a GRAND SLAM in the bottom of the 10th, down 3, with 2 outs, to win it.

That's amazing. Nobody's talkin' about it but that's one of the few times in MLB history that's ever happened.

Bote's was especially unique in that it was a 3-2 count.
