Towards the end of the game, Orton really appeared to catch his stride. He was really throwing some darts there. Hopefully, he can start playing like this more consistently.

After the Cubs debacle I'm really trying to be excited by the way the Bears played, but there's that whole thing of them doing ti against the Lions that's holding me back. Then again it's the NFL and you never know when a teams just going to go out of their minds like Arizona did against Buffalo. I'll just look at the standings with the Bears in first place and that'll be good enough.

To get this topic back on track, Kyle Orton played his best game as a Bear yesterday, even if it was against the dreadful Detroit Lions. #18 is getting more & more comfortable as the Bears' starting QB, and I think it's safe to say the only time Rex Grossman sees the field anytime soon is in mop-up duty.

Composite QB ratings against Detroit this season are higher than any individual qb's overall rating against the league. I'm not quite ready to buy Orkman a bus ticket to Canton.

Nobody is calling for his own wing at Canton yet. They are recognizing that he is better than everyone expected*, and that he did what he was supposed to do this past Sunday-- put up good numbers against such a shitty Lions team.

*Before we settle anything about Orton, we must clear any and all praise of him with spanky. Only he seems to know how successful atheletes and thier teams really are based on thier preseason expectations.
