Incredibly weak at linebacker as well.

With, or without Roquan, the LB room is poor.

Perhaps I'm mistaken, but is Kyler Gordon not starting? You know the uber steal of a corner that the Bears got in Round 2? I get it's hard to start at corner as a rookie, but it's not really that hard to beat out Kindel Vidor or Duke Shelly for a starting job.

My biggest takeaway from last night is that the Bears seem more disciplined under the new coaching staff.. but Eburflus missing that challenge is something he needs to work on. That said, I’m still seeing a team that lacks overall talent on offense.. and boy, the O-line is not looking good lol

Velus Jones is interesting to me as a ‘weapon’ type player. Mooney at least looks competent in the very few plays I’ve seen him in on and Ebner really does look like a legit #2 back so far.

Defense has a bit more talent but has done nothing that stands out.. but they are flying around and ‘playing to the whistle’ so far.. let’s hope that translates into something. In theory, we do have talent at all 3 levels if the drefense with Quinn at End, Smith (well, for now) at LB, and Jackson at safety to go along with some younger talent like Johnson, Brisker, and Gordon. So, it’s possible the defense could be a top 10 unit.

The Bears have zero preseason opening drive touchdowns in the past 22 years. Is that Jauron or Wanny?

Jauron. Do yourself a favor and do not look up who was on the offense that year that scored 18 total touchdowns. You don't want to be reminded that Kaseem Sinceno was the starting TE.

The offensive line was solid.

Very encouraging 1st quarter by Fields and the rest of the offense. I even liked the play calling.

Cleveland may have a hard time finding wins. The Texans are excited.

Putrid effort by the Browns, but a few encouraging things, especially the way the new offense is tailored specifically for Fields.

The offense looks to be at least prepared and Fields is seeing the field better, we will likely see tons of check downs to backs which may not result in much, but if he just takes what the D is giving him it should prevent at least a few sacks/turnovers.

Much better force at the edge on D than they had with the vaunted Mack and Quinn who always jumped inside chasing sacks/stats and lost contain consistently.

The HC looks to be behaving more like a HC, very unlike the previous guy who was too preoccupied staring at his offensive play sheet to be bothered with anything else.

I dont understand why theyd get rid of Mayfield and acquire a dud e who had personal problems and who has been declining on the field anyway.

Makes no sense.

Not sure how many defensive starters played last night for Cleveland but the offense finally showed some life. Fields looking guys off (or trying to) is encouraging.. it’s also nice to see playcalling (although very basic at this point) that seems to fit the personnel. It was als good to see different plays (run/pass) out of the same looks -I’ve been saying for ages now that this was a huge flaw of Nagy’s offense. Running multiple things out of the same look helps to keep the defense guessing.

I mentioned this last week but I’ll mention it again.. this team looks more disciplined and actually coached up to play. There seems to be a plan on both sides of the ball and players are responding to that. It’s more than just ‘memorize my phone book size playbook and go out there and don’t mess up’ which seems how the Nagy show was run.

All that said, this final preseason game is more ‘feel good’ than anything. I still think this offense will struggle until the line gets sorted out. Defense should be solid enough to keep them in games and at least for now it looks like they have real coaching going on. But now we’ll see how it looks when they have to start installing real game plans and countering the oppositions game planning.

Still, nice to see Justin flash a little. He made some really nice throws last night. There’s no doubt he has the talent.

Yeah it doesn’t make much sense. Watson is a disaster. All of this is definitely going to reflect in his play too imo. He’s been out of the game for so long plus having to deal with all this.. that’s a lot of weight to carry.

The best thing about Fields last night was that he looked poised. Of course, it helped that he wasn’t running for his life every play, but like you said, it looks like the coaching staff is trying to play to the strengths of their talent. Fields looked comfortable, didn’t try to force anything, made good decisions, and when he threw the ball, it was accurate.

Yeah, with Clowney and Barrett out it would look a lot different based on last year's game, but it beats the alternative of him looking bad even when given enough time.

I know Ward didn't play either. What about their other starting corner?

This team played with a lot of effort in the preseason. The young guys appeared to develop. Coaching may be going on.

After last night, Bears fans have to be looking forward to a division title, a first round bye and a Teven Jenkins bobblehead day in 2022.

The Bears and Lions have 6.5 win totals from Vegas. I will take the Lions having more wins than the Bears and the Bears going under 6.5.

I cannot trust this offense, and I think the defense has enough holes and lacks depth to make up for a weak offense.

I would love to be wrong.

The 0-16 Browns went 4-0 in the preseason.
