I don't think there should be a new tax paid for by the people that helps fund the stadium, but if AH wants to cut the Bears a break on property tax or sales tax collected, they should have the option to do so. No different than giving such a break to a new retail store or bar that opens up in town.

I just find it hilarious and disgustingly greedy how the family is going to jam the taxpayers and season ticket holders with the fraud imo that are personal seat licenses. Not to mention the money coming from the NFL to reward yet another horrible team ownership group.

Check out the Bills’ new deal when you get a chance.

I suspect the eventual AH deal is going to dwarf that one.

Living in Buffalo is bad enough, but getting abused for a limited use stadium is worse.

Bills don't even play in Buffalo, so the team should go down the tubes. Nobody is supposed to care about them. Or so I've been told.

So let the residents of Orchard Park take it in the moon. Don't care.

Wrong. The Bears would generate millions of dollars in revenue for Arlington Heights and nearby communities. It's not unreasonable to ask the city that will benefit the most to be a partner.

Most studies say the benefits never outweigh the costs of the subsidies.

Yeah, all the Japanese businessmen and In This House families who live in Arlington Heights are like "GOD if we could just have a place for monster trucks..."

Really doesn't matter what they think, the Monster Truck shows fill dates for the venue and even though the rather arrogant citizens of the rapidly decaying city known as Chicago will never admit it, there are plenty of goofs that love their Monster Truck shows that live within a few hour drive.

The sports book/casino option is likely more realistic as it would bring in a steady stream of money throughout the year, but make no mistake my isolated friend, for every one of you there are 10 tatted up white boys in Rockford that dropped out of East High in 10th grade that love that there Monster Truck stuff.

The thing you seem to be missing is that it's replacing a declining horse track and not a forest preserve. Anyone who moved to Arlington Park after 1927 shouldn't really have much of an issue with a sports venue being close to them.

Arlington Heights couldn't support a mafia operation, but we're supposed to think they can support the beloved?

Let's be honest. If you are a true Bears fan you will not only follow them to Arlington Heights but you will move to Arlington Heights with them. Is Nas a true Bears fan?

Chicago teams play in Chicago just like He wanted. I may glance at the television on Sundays, but the Chicago Bears, brought to you by Arlington Heights, won't have my heart.

As someone who doesn't live in Illinois I feel personally attacked by your opinions.

You lived in a city whose football teams played in another state. That can damage a man. I still love you though.

Then you have a weak heart.

You didn't see to care when the Fire played in Bridgeview.

They’ll be a partner by letting them build whatever they want on 300+ acres.

As an alum, I cringed then sadly laughed when Northwestern came out calling themselves "Chicago's Big Ten team "

I've been using a similar line; I live less than a mile from AP and hope to remain upright and healthy enough to walk to games if/when the thing is built. And If I can't walk I'll buy a golf cart and have the neighbor kids drive me

Did you know Michael Wilbon also went to NW?

I predict....the first Bears home game in Arlington Heights will be the start of the 2027 season.

They didn't try and stop the Raiders. They literally helped finance the stadium.

The Chargers got to move because they were moving into the new stadium already being built. I don't think the NFL was thrilled with that move but it's far different than building a brand new stadium.

The only thing that has prevented other teams from coming to Chicago has been the power of the Bears. That power is gone the 2nd they leave the city.

Yep. And good for Bears ownership that they actually came to their senses and realized this!

If you are starting with a blank slate, I don't think a dome on the lakefront is the best location.

Over time the Bears would have lost a helluva lot of support had they moved to Arlington Heights. Great to see that they came to their senses.
