The reports to campus officials late last year revealed disturbing allegations about players from San Diego State University’s winning football team.

Claims were rapidly spreading among the school’s athletes that five players had raped an unconscious girl and left her bloodied and bruised at a house party off campus.

“I am very scared and worried that nothing is being done about this,” one student-athlete told university officials in a message sent through an anonymous reporting system, which was reviewed by The Times along with other internal campus records in the case.

Now, more than seven months after the alleged Oct.16 incident, San Diego State officials have not launched an internal investigation or student disciplinary proceeding, both of which are intended in part to help protect students and employees from those found to have engaged in sexual misconduct. Nor have they alerted the campus that police are investigating a reported sexual assault involving students and provided information for potential witnesses to contact authorities.

June 3rd, huh, sounds like everybody knew. Enough for him not to be drafted higher, but not enough for him not to be drafted.

6 Game suspension?

OMG! I see why the 49ers are hiding Trey Lance. The Bears should win that game if Parkins plays quarterback.

A punter getting drafted higher than the 6th round isn't that much a stretch. This case is disturbing, though.....it smells real bad for SDSU and the police investigating.

Sounds like the NFL punted on it, saying since it happened in college it's up to the Bills. Sounds gutless, but I'm guessing they've mentioned some things to Buffalo unofficially

That sounds like the discussion this morning regarding Aaron Donald swinging his helmet at a Bengal. The consensus was that there would be no suspension or punishment since the NFL leaves that to the clubs during preseason.

How has the red headed tub of shit not weighed in on this yet while simultaneously using it as a platform to beg someone to buy her book? The Punter was named because he now has money. It seems very odd that she immediately reported this to the police, got checked out at the hospital and there were no criminal charges. San Diego gives zero fucks about its college football team so its not like they would lift a finger to protect anyone.

I'm willing to consider that 1 person may be lying if there isn't some evidence.

Will be amused after all the training camp drama if Jenkins and Roquan both start the first game.

Roquan is definitely starting the first game (barring injury).

Jenkins is the likely starter at RG unless they make a roster move. Moving him or bringing in a journeyman/cast-off from another roster doesn't make much sense when you have a 2nd year player who was just drafted in the 2nd round. I would let him grow at that position.

The Bears are renowned for “growing the man”.

Trenton Gill may have a slightly, and only slightly less powerful leg but he is much more refined at everything that makes a punter good. Great pick.

And maybe a little insight from Mooney on how Fields' views the Bears first opponent?

"He's gonna prove everything that everybody doubted him on – especially Week 1. That team passed on him. So they're gonna have to pay a little bit for that."

After watching game 3, I think Braxton Jones is going to be a solid, starting left tackle.

Now if he could only figure out how to surround Fields with capable NFL Wide receivers.

Huh? did he attend one of your Bears tent revivals where he kissed your snake and drank from the endless cup of Bears Kool-aide and has now seen the light?

A seismic shift in the world, maybe the realignment of the poles they talk about on Ancient Aliens has finally taken place.

Bob fucked up the ritual. That wasn't a snake he kissed. Apparently it was still somewhat effective.

Final Roster...Until tomorrow

The eight vested veterans the Bears released were quarterback Nathan Peterman; guard Michael Schofield III; tackle Shon Coleman; defensive tackle Trevon Coley; defensive end Mario Edwards Jr.; cornerback Greg Stroman Jr., safety Davontae Harris and tight end James O'Shaughnessy (with a non-football illness designation). The veterans are not subject to the waiver process and are able to sign with another team immediately.

On Wednesday, the Bears can establish a 16-man practice squad, with six of those players having unlimited NFL experience, and also claim players who have been waived by other NFL teams.

NFL clubs typically stock their practice squads with players they waived during final cuts, so several of the players trimmed from the Bears roster Tuesday could be re-signed to the practice squad.

The Bears kept two quarterbacks on their roster in Justin Fields and Trevor Siemian; three running backs in David Montgomery, Khalil Herbert and Trestan Ebner; and two fullbacks in Khari Blasingame and Jake Tonges.

They kept just two tight ends in Cole Kmet and Ryan Griffin and nine offensive linemen in center/guards Lucas Patrick, Cody Whitehair and Sam Mustipher; guards Teven Jenkins, Ja'Tyre Carter and Zachary Thomas; and tackles Braxton Jones, Larry Borom and Riley Reiff.

The Bears kept seven receivers: Darnell Mooney, Byron Pringle, N'Keal Harry, Equanimeous St. Brown, Velus Jones Jr., Dante Pettis and Tajae Sharpe.

Eight defensive linemen earned roster spots in ends Robert Quinn, Al-Quadin Muhammad, Dominique Robinson and Trevis Gipson; and tackles Angelo Blackson, Khyiris Tonga, Justin Jones and Mike Pennel Jr..

Linebackers who made the 53-man roster were Roquan Smith, Nicholas Morrow, Matthew Adams, Joe Thomas, Jack Sanborn and Caleb Johnson.

The Bears kept 11 defensive backs in cornerbacks Jaylon Jones, Kyler Gordon, Kindle Vildor, Lamar Jackson, Duke Shelley and Jaylon Jones; and safeties Eddie Jackson, Jaquan Brisker, DeAndre Houston-Carson, Dane Cruikshank and Elijah Hicks.

Their three specialists are kicker Cairo Santos, punter Trenton Gill and long-snapper Patrick Scales.
