How long until MANY around here have to forgo the wonders of Wonder, Butternut and store brand breads in favor of bread that has actual flavor?

I stick by my Jewel brand 100% Whole Wheat. 22 carbs for 2 slices.

I still have a soft spot for white bread...had many cheese, mayo and Butternut sandwiches as a yute. But now I only buy for BLTs or Texas Toast for making French toast.

See, I just had a fried shrimp lunch and may go to a newish Creole spot in Hyde Park to get a Peacemaker since I heard they're flying in the greatest Leidenheimer bread for them.

We get the Butternut Italian bread. The wheats aren't good for grilled cheese or French toast. Onion buns, bagels, or French rolls are what I prefer for sandwiches. Great harvest if there is one near you has an Oregon Herb that is great for turkey sandwiches.

TT is great for BLTs but I haven't seen it in a while.

I haven't purchased white bread in about 5 years. I'm sure I've eaten it.

Harold's still uses white bread for their sopping bread.

But other than that, I am 100% whole wheat. Like, the kind in those loaves that are a little more expensive and a little shorter than the regular loaves. Great for corned beef and pbj.

Yup. Often with fried oysters or shrimp, bacon with cheddar cheese. Delicious.

Them and good BBQ carry out joints. About the only saving grace for pillowy white bread. :D

Harold's doesn't have sauce that you need bread for

Last time I was arrested the 18th street lockup rationed TP by the square but had a folding table with pre-made white bread and bologna sandwiches (sans condiments), guard said those were unlimited.

The only oysters that should be subject to frying are gulf oysters. Anything else is a crime.

Soppin', man. We get that by the gallon here, and when we don't feel like waiting for Harold's, we just go to Popeye's and douse it with Harold's sauce. The bread is key.

You're a Southsider. Find better sauce.

I don't get how they make white bread but fill it with fiber. It goes against nature. Millions of years of evolution of Poaceae and then just one day, probably in like 2012, someone finds a way to put fiber into bread as white as John Stockton and we all just accept it as normal?

If we can accept climate change as an existential threat, we certainly can accept you putting Poaceae in a sentence.

Hot and sauce together with the chicken grease is pretty good, especially after a too small order.
