I think he’ll be good, better than Fields.

Maybe. It won't be this year.

Joking aside, Fields has been an NFL prospect since he was a kid. He was 1 or 2 in his recruiting class - only behind a guy widely regarded as a generational talent. As much as people like to paint him with the OSU QB brush, he was a better recruit, had better stats, and won bigger games than most of the others like Haskins.

Lance played low level D1 and opted to skip a year in the process.

Yeah, neither wanted to play until the second half.

Congrats Bears fans.

A decade before Amazon released its ebook sales device, some recent transplant yankee nurse in a Georgia hospital, still unfamiliar with the pin-pen tin-ten kin-ken merger, asked a mother in delivery room what she wanted to name her newborn son: the mother said Kendall, the nurse heard "Kin-dull" and wrote down "Kindle".

The field conditions put the final nail in the Soldier Field coffin.

Drainage sucks. Guys getting injured.

Arlington Heights...on the way...it was going to happen anyway.

Hypothetical Arlington Heights' field won't be a problem. Everything in Arlington Heights will be fine, according to all the "fine" folks in the western suburbs.

Herbert finds the small holes, and Montgomery finds the defenders or the backs of his offensive linemen. Montgomery needs the fullback because his vision/feel is poor.

Whatever you’d like to call the future home of the undefeated Bears is your prerogative.

No, western suburbs is correct; it's all the ticketholders in Lisle, Hinsdale, and Downers Grove who want some other suburb to buy them a shiny new toy.

This penalty thing is an obsession of mine now

they had a significant decrease in pre season penalties over the last regime, like huge

and in the opener they had only 3-24 yds which is beyond good...meanwhile they goated the 49ers into 5 first downs through penalties, and they only had 15 for the game..strong indication of a well coached team that understands they have no room for error...

I'm buying..think they could win 8 games

The defense was legit and that will play in any weather. The D line was great against a very good 49er O line.

Eddie Jackson waved on a few tackles but I will take that from him if he is playing the pass well again.

Brisker looks like a veteran.

I didn't expect Domonique to be seeing the field this year as he was a project. 1.5 sacks, none being cheap.

I didn't notice Braxton Jones sucking. Bosa made some plays but not so much that Jones should be highlighted.

Mustipher sucks and this is now two coaching staffs who see something in him that I don't.

I may have been wrong about Cole Kmet.

Trey Lance is working with good to great players across the board. 49ers will be a good team.

People are still taking late hits on Fields.

I know roquan led the team in tackles but a backup TE beat him on a few plays and that is why he shouldn't be paid as the top LB in the league

Thinking Roquan and Montgomery are both gone next year.

Ebner might be the best overall fit for the offense, but both he and Herbert have that one cut quickness you need in outside zone and are 4.4 40 guys, but Ebener is a better overall fit due to his pass catching ability.

Heard Bosa interviewed post game and he said the 49ers plan was to take away the outside run lanes, you could see them walking the safety up and pressing the gap, nice adjustment to more inside runs late in game, you can see why the like Jenkins at guard on run plays, he can move guys in the run game.

I know the board loves it when I use the term "grab ass", but a remarkable difference between the post game celebrations from Nagy where it was all look and be and "be you" with guys dancing around like they had just won the Super Bowl, Eberflus was much calmer and talked about how they won as a team by committing to the game plan and wearing down the opponent. Went from a grab ass coach to an actual NFL HC, time will tell how much he will win, but a stark difference in coaching/organizational philosophy under the new regime. If they can get some players with talent, they may have something in a few years.

Also saw some people taking shots at certain WSCR hosts who made fun of the simplistic way Eberflus goes about his business, how could they! That is beyond the pale, why Dan Bernstein is the smartest guy in any room he enters, just ask him, he will tell you.

Domnique Robinson is an interesting prospect, he is raw as hell, but has a great motor to go along with great athleticism for the position, would run right at him if I see him lined up at DE on first down, but certainly should be able to make plays as a situational pass rusher.

A good find by Poles, should get much more playing time if/when they get the right offer and trade Quinn to a team desperate for pass rush help.

Bosa is just awesome and he's going to make a few plays every game regardless of who he goes up against. Jones held his own for the most part. Considering it was his first game as an NFL tackle, you couldn't have expected much more. He definitely improved as the game went on, and played every snap.
