Bears also played a clean game for the most part. With that stupid towel penalty, they may have cost themselves 3 points.

Being smart, playing clean, and mostly not getting flagged is a huge part of why they were able to stay in the game and ultimately win yesterday.

As far as ST goes, I'm willing to give Cairo a mulligan. It could not have been easy to kick in that slop yesterday.

So I had the Bears losing yesterday and was mildly excited to see Fields make some good throws in bad conditions. Full credit to the Bears but because of the conditions I don't think the outcome says much about either team.

I agree on ST. The post game show with Brown and Briggs and so on gave the ST an F and I thought that was harsh. I'd give them an "incomplete" because no ST would have played optimally in those conditions.

No, it actually does. Trey Lance is still bad. He'll likely be bad all season. The 49ers will struggle because of his limitations

The Bears appear to be a well coached team. The young guys have developed well in a short period of time.

It will be interesting to see how the league handles those half-assed kneel downs that Fields does. Without late hit penalties, I'm not sure the Bears win that game.

David Montgomery....17 carries 26 yards. Ouch.

The 49ers had as many yards in penalties as the Bears rushed for in total, 99 yards.

Speaking of yards, Fields is on pace to throw for just over 2,000 of them.

Bosa had his way in the 1st quarter. He had a lot of company in his suckiness early in the game. Clearly adjustments were made, and Kmet helped out a few times on the left side.

In game/halftime adjustments is something we haven't seen with a Bears coaching staff in MANY years.

No way anyone can complain about Jones in this game. A rookie starting at T. Guy did just fine and he will only get better.

Mustipher and Jenkins not so much.

Jenkins is learning and he has a nasty streak. He put Bosa on his ass yesterday. Mustipher should be a backup once Patrick is healthy.

Maybe it's already been said, but it seems to me that neither coach let either qb play in the majority of the game. Maybe it was the field and the weather, but I didn't see evidence of confidence until late.

Bad weather was fun to play in...as a kid.

Jones struggled early with Bosa's inside power and leverage, Mack uses this when he's interested, it's hard to adjust when a pass rusher attacks the inside shoulder, wins the hand fight and gets inside leverage, only the top OT's are able to readjust, hand fight, and anchor against inside power.

They did give him TE help, and Jones later in the game showed why they like him in an outside zone system, he has good feet, long arms, and can move get defensive players moving laterally.

I think Braxton Jones has potential, I said so last week. But I'm sorry if you thought that was a quality performance by a left tackle. He was taken to school (granted by a great player).

Jones allowed one sack.

Dominique Robinson recorded 1.5 sacks.

it's been quite a while since soldier field was that jubilant. fans sat through a first half of horrendous offensive football capped by a dumbass penalty that took away a FG chance.... the first half confirmed all of the pre-season fears about the lack of talent on offense. we were staring at more of the same... bad bears offense.... so when out of nowhere this team scores 3 tds to come back and win... combined with the crazy weather... it was just so unexpected. glad i was there.

Both of these.....if the Bears can keep this going and just not be stupid, we'll call them dramatically improved. Stupid penalties are a non-starter for any team.

Bosa is a lot to handle. The kid did alright.

Unless you have one of the top Tackles in the league, Bosa is going to get some plays in. Not many teams have that Tackle.
