Watched S4E1 last night. Pretty good as expected. Will be back in this thread after finishing the season.

Finished it yesterday. I thought it was ok. Some funny one liners by Johnny. Sometimes I can't believe I am sitting there binging it because it is really nothing great but it is enjoyable enough.
Set itself up for another season nicely.

I've watched the first 3.5 episodes of the new season, and I'm kinda bored by it. The whole Eagle Fang running joke is played out, the new child character is uninteresting so far, Sam's brother kind of sucks (both the character and the actor), and Thomas Ian Griffith is on screen way too infrequently. Hopefully, things will improve.

One thing I find strange is that Miguel now looks like a cream puff and seems to have acquired Robby's dorky haircut from previous seasons. You can't be convincing as a Karate champion if you waddle.

I think it all comes together and ends up working out TM. Stick with it.

I think they are going to have a real difficult time making the LaRusso son into any kind of karate student. It was clear during a couple of his "action" scenes that he is not very coordinated.

Maybe I’m too early in the season but 4 episodes in and they seem to be hinting that either: 1) he’s a good guy, who despite some jerk friends doesn’t want to use his karate powers for evil or 2) doesn’t actually have karate powers.

The kid is an arrogant jerk like the entire family. I am coming around to the theory that Daniel was actually the bad guy in the original movies.

He’s Bruce Lee compared to the LaRusso boy but I see your point.

Spoilerish…

I’m in the scene where Silver and Kreese are directing their kids not to fight the miyagi-do kids. The idea that two grown men are playing fantasy football with street fighting karate kids is the *essence* of this show’s appeal.

it's hilarious that this show is written on the level of a tellanovela or daytime soap, and as corny and predictable as it is, it still gets me. the fanservice remains pitch perfect.

but i don't want to see this show run out of gas before its time. i think one more season would be good but anything after that...i mean they're already starting to get repetitive and there's really no more "surprise" cameos to pull out of a hat anymore. i mean, maybe one remains but that's it.

zabka kicks ass.

i think they took this show one season too far already after watching 2 new episodes. The first couple seasons were fun and campy, the last couple were still kind of fun. This season is going to take work to get through it appears.

Season 5 Episode 7 has the funniest single line I have ever heard in any TV show or movie. I'm still laughing.

This season is utterly fantastic in my opinion, quite a rebound after an uneven season 4.

I'm through episode 6 and it is an easy watch. Ridiculous yes but the episodes are quick and there are some funny moments.

Ep 6 had a great one when Lawrence and Chozen were comparing Larusso exploits.

I finished first two and have the season downloaded to my iPad. On my way to Boston for the Yankees game tonight. I’ll have to plow through these….

Finished this last night. I thought it was pretty good and certainly sets things up for yet another season, although I am not sure how it will all work out. Obviously they qualified for that big event so my guess is they will work towards fielding a team for that and we will have a new batch of international bad guys to deal with.

Very fun season. It captured the magic and cheesiness of the entire franchise and used all the characters well.

This will likely get it's own thread when it becomes a bit more "real" but I read an article that the writers creators of Cobra Kai are planning on a Ferris Bueller movie that would follow the exploits of the two valet drivers that took the Ferrari out for a joyride. It would be called "Sam and Victor's Day Off"

Final season part one dropped yesterday. Though the first 2 eps and everyone is getting along. I like it.

5 episodes now, 5 more in November. I’m not a fan of that staggered schedule but it’s a model that everybody uses now (except HBO I think).

I'm through the first three episodes and am finding this season highly enjoyable so far.

The stuff with Kyler and company at the college was great! "MIT".
