Pretty interesting stuff
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V7AsySV-isg

That was very good. Leery did his best to make me X out with some aggressive cackling, but that guy was a nice listen.

I came into the interview questioning Fields; I left the interview questioning Fields and Getsy.

Here we go again....

Why? Because he sounds like he knows what he's talking about or because you want to believe it?

Because what he said aligns with and expands on my observations of the offense as it has been revealed thus far.

It’s also logical stuff that’s goes deeper into the flaws in game planning than the usual ‘Getsy sucks’ you’ll get from people like me.

that tim jenkins guy may be right in his assessment about getsy and the bears offense. But, he also may just be a guy who knows the jargon and is eeking out a living. have you seen a less impressive QB guru resume for someone doing this 10 years?

Quote:
Tim Jenkins is the NFL & National Quarterback Director for Jenkins Elite.

Coach Jenkins founded Jenkins Elite in 2013 and since has worked with over 1,000 quarterbacks across the country and counting. He has helped mentor over 30 elite 11 regional invitees, 15 NFL & CFL QB’s, and over 75 NCAA QB’s. He has placed college seniors in both the NFL and CFL through pre-draft preparation and consults for NFL & CFL teams.

During his playing career coach Jenkins played for Fort Lewis College, a division 2 school in the RMAC Conference. He was a 4 year starting quarterback and team captain at Fort Lewis. Having set or sharing 18 school records throughout his career. Amassing 8,968 passing yards and 60 total touchdowns throughout his career. He finished with 2 RMAC offensive player of the week awards, 1 NFF offensive player of the week award, the RMAC freshman of the year award, 2nd team all RMAC honor, Fort Lewis College MVP award, 5 College All-Star game invites including the division 1 Casino Del Sol All Star Game, as well as pro day at Colorado State University, and securing an invite to the NFL Super Regional Combine in Dallas, Texas.

Coach Jenkins signed a contract with the St. Louis Rams (NFL) May 13th, 2013 after a successful rookie minicamp tryout with the Rams. Participated in OTA’s and Training Camp with St. Louis in 2013. Following training camp, Tim was let go after having a 95.8 Quarterback Rating throughout the pre-season.

Tim signed a contract with the Calgary Stampeders in October of 2013. Working with the team throughout the end of the regular season and into the playoff run during the CFL expanded roster period.

Exactly I'm buying what he's saying, but this is all on QB play / coaching.
The blocking tends to be complete shit. There isn't a decent WR or TE on the roster. All of that factors in.

It's comforting words for folks secretly clinging to Fields being a great quarterback. Fields fans attack an accomplished coach like Martz, but embrace the views of an eloquently speaking nobody.

Alternately, it's comforting for folks who believe in Getsy's coaching prowess to dismiss Jenkins as an eloquently speaking nobody.

It's entirely possible that both Fields AND Getsy are bad.

Accomplished??? Where and without Dick Vermeil's team?

Mike Martz is a complete buffoon imho. The tight end fiasco and as quickly as the Rams fell apart prove that.

It was his offense. His offense also got the most out of bum ass Cutler until he injured his thumb.

Edit: Jenkins can't even point to a professional quarterback in his bio that he's helped after 20 years.

Yeah, he seems like he's got a very strong work ethic and is very determined to improve. Hopefully he can take a big developmental leap at some point this season.

Big critic of Mitch but he seemed to try hard and take his job seriously. Fields seems to be the same way. Can't help but feel bad for both when the product doesn't meet expectations. Fields still has more time though.

I suppose most pro athletes work "hard", but I don't recall Mitch gathering his receivers to work in the offseason like Fields did. I don't remember stories of him putting in "extra" study time either, though I do recollect that the coaches turned off all the TVs in Halas Hall because they thought Mitch was too fragile to withstand media criticism of him.

The scary thing is that Fields may have an uncommonly good work ethic but doesn't yet have any results to show for it.

I can only assume it's because you weren't invested in being right about (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky being a good/great quarterback like you are with Fields. From coaches to players, everyone talked about how hard (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky worked. First guy in and last guy out kind of guy.

(Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky spent every summer with A-Rob and other receivers. He did the same in Pittsburgh. Haskins died on the expressway at one of his offensive retreats.

I can be a cynical guy. If you constantly try to convince me you have a particular trait or the kind of person you are, I'm going to assume that you aren't. Based on the treadmill videos and the proclamation that the Packers loss so hurt him that he decided to wake up an hour early, 3 days after the defeat, I am going to assume Fields doesn't work as hard as he wants us to believe. After all, he was at a club Friday night.

I guess Mitch's experience serves as a bit of a cautionary tale, then, if he worked as hard as you say.

His efforts have yielded little, if any, improvement as a QB during his many years of endless toil in the NFL. Hard work, apparently, is of little value if you don't have enough talent.

Hopefully Fields won't endure the same fate as the hapless and hopeless Mitch (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky.

I don't think I'm invested in Fields being great at all. I just don't want the question of Fields status as long-term starter to linger into next season. If he's good, that's ideal. But if he's not the guy, the Bears will be in excellent position to replace him in the 2023 draft.

I believe hard work can pay off, especially if you have the right attitude. As frustrated as Fields makes me, I hope you and the masses are ultimately right about him. Fields being great or really good changes the entire offseason and the future of the franchise.

You generally find some sadistic type of joy in torching people for failing/sucking. You've been gentle with Fields. Even somewhat hedging. It warms my heart to see Tall Midget getting soft as he ages.

I think you're confusing me with someone else. I wasn't one of (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky's harshest critics here, though I certainly realized he wasn't "the guy" by the end of his second season.

I'm willing to give Fields the same amount of time. He clearly has more physical ability than (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky, but he may share (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky's fatal mental flaws.

Yeah there were a lot of rough patches for Allen to start his career.

Hopefully Fields can smooth out his like Allen was able to.

Didn't we beat him in 2018?

Edit: He'll still make bad throws/decisions. He does so many special things that you live with the occasional rocket arm overthrow.

Very few of the special things he does occur within the constraints of a conventional NFL offense.

I think people were less likely to give Mitch the benefit of the doubt for a number of reasons. The main one being that he could never overcome the fact that the Bears could have drafted Watson or Mahomes. But, Fields looks doubtful to even reach Mitch's modest 2nd year numbers or his number of wins.

People tired of Nagy's act and made fun of his 'Be You' slogan. Yet, Eberflus certainly won't win as many games as Nagy did. And if you read the tea leaves, Colts fans were thrilled that the Bears took Eberflus off their hands.
