The man is standing up for his fellow biking enthusiasts.

https://nypost.com/2022/09/21/bill-walt ... elessness/

“Once again, while peacefully riding my bike early this Sunday morning in Balboa Park, I was threatened, chased, and assaulted by the homeless population, in our Park,” Walton wrote Aug. 28. “Once again, you’ve done, and continue to do, nothing.”

He also deserves a shoutout for riding in a park and not on the street.

My wife and I met Walton pre-Covid out in Claremont, Ca. at a great Mexican restaurant. Just found him to be what I would call a "real" person or "genuine". People respected his privacy and just let him enjoy his dinner. HE IS VERY TALL!!! I was afraid he might fall because it was obvious that he had a lot of trouble just walking.

 I always wonder if he hit a little weed before he broadcasts. But then he's infinitely fascinating. Especially with Jason Benetti.

I think he hits a little weed most of the time.

Dead wrong. He's initially fascinating. Five minutes later, I'm PTFB

naw, you just lack the vision to truly appreciate the genius of Walton. The guy is a national treasure.

He’s the Bill Murray of the nba. He shows up and people start giggling about how great he is before he opens his mouth.

Because he is funny AND great. Kids like you are worse off because you didn't get to hear him regularly.

Its strange Walton would have difficulty navigating a hobo camp, considering how many Dead shows he claims to have attended which are basically the same thing.

Definitely Walton. I can't recall laughing at anything Murray said in my life.

Ehh, Murray was funny in the seventies and early eighties. Then he started living in his old reviews.

Funny on Letterman, funny in Groundhog Day, Kingpin, Zombieland, and Caddyshack. Good in St Vincent. Overrated? Yeah, probably.

Bill Walton has a 15 year tiresome schtick. Overrated isn't even the right descriptor.

Used to be able to dribble a basketball off my hard on. Now I rack myself getting out of the car because my balls said, "fuck it, we quit". Bill Walton is the human form of old balls descending.

Walton was at his funny best when he was doing the color commentary at the Clipper's games. this was when the Clippers were the worst team in basketball. His partner was a terrible announcer called Ralph Lawler who tried to sugar coat everything about the Clippers and when he'd say something that Bill couldn't stomach, he'd just say in his best bass voice the word...TERRIBLE. and Lawler would cringe. The Clippers would be down by 30 points or more and bring in some 3rd string bum off of the bench, and Bill would ssay something about the guy trying his best to CUT THE DEFICIT down to 25 points in a "heroic" example of team play and hustle.

I don't give a shit one way or the other about Bill Walton, but I love this very on point statement regarding Bill Murray.

You have to be 55+ for that Bill Murray statement to be on point. My basketball viewing experience was never the same once NBC lost the NBA. I hung around on a Friday night a few years ago solely to hear Walton do a Sox game.
