Stroman has been on a nice roll and it continued tonight. A 2-1 victory brings their post All Star record to 33-29. Brandon Hughes with a hold (Let's Go Brandon) and Rodriguez with the save. Gotta give Ross credit....the team has been out of it for a long time, but continues to play hard and compete.

Of this current roster conservatively 75% don't figure in the teams future plans of hopefully wise spending, top prospects being ready, in the path to having a competitive team. This is a tank team on a decent 2nd half run.

exactly. All garbage players.

Fuck, a guy supposed to be in the long-term startin' pitchin' plans, they have neutered him into a fuckin' relief pitcher (Keegan)

At least they activated Contreras. Surprised. Be nice for him to finish off the last week of the year. And Suzuki also activated.

Dumbass, he has pitched more innings this year that any other in his minor league years. They are trying to keep him from getting hurt. Same with Steele, they overreacted on purpose to a small injury because he had never thrown that much, and they'll bring him back for one or two starts to hopefully finish on a high note.

I will make the prediction here that even if Thompson mostly pitches in relief in 2023, he will have 125 IP. Hoyer, Hawkins, and Breslow are emphasizing multi-inning relievers who can go 3 innings behind the starters, and can stretch to 4-5 if there is an injury or if a starter ends up on the IL. Hoyer has figured out that he can get league-average or better 6th-8th innings for $6000 an inning.

I know that the majority of guys on this team will be gone before the team is a contender again. But it's been fun and interesting to follow this team, 34-29 since the All Star break. Wisneski looks like a solid contender for a spot in the rotation next year. It is going to be a real interesting off season.

I think they are going to put in a monster offer for Judge for 7 or 8 years. Like 7/400 monster. Something that the Yankees will feel forced to match but that will send them way over the luxury tax forever.

Judge in CF for two years until PCA arrives, then a corner OF and occasional DH for the next five.... Fuck getting an overpriced SS, get this guy.

If the Phillies dont make the playoffs, 0-6 vs the Cubs will be pointed at as the major reason.

There was no doubt that when Thompson came in for the 7th, he'd stay in for as long as they held the lead.

Yeah, the Phillies are fucked. Swept by the lowly Cubs and then have to face the Astros the close out the season while the Brewers (who are now tied with them) get Miami and Arizona.

And who's the genius that scheduled the Cubs to finish with six straight against the Reds?

The last three in CIN are a makeup of the April series postponed due to the lockout. The first three was supposed to be the last series of the season.

We usually finish up with 3 and 3 vs the shitty Pirates and Reds, so not much difference.

It's actually odd we got the Phillies this late in the season but I like it.

Hoyer will need a crystal ball with free agents if he's getting one that cuts down on ped use with a big new contract. Will Judge be a behemoth HR machine or a slimmed down less slug version in '23. There seems to be ped use adjustment with Pujols, Nico, Giolito substantially gaining then Yelich, Heyward noticeably losing weight. What appears to be free agents tanking may be somewhat linked to masked ped use reduction. It's always interesting to hear announcers in spring when their guard is down commenting on miraculous short term physique changes they see which are impossible unless ped aided.

He (Ian Happ) is one of the most consistent players all sides of the ball this year I've ever seen.
