In terms of passing game there isn't much of a difference 2021 Glennon and 2022 Daniel Jones. Eberflus defense can't stop a bootleg.

LOL you're nuts

He had 71 yards passing yesterday. There was no passing game for the Giants yesterday, and yet the Bears managed to snuff out a loss.

He dropped back literally like 5 times yesterday. He design bootlegged and play-actioned the bears to death. The giants ran for like 260 yards. He never looked lost or out-of-control. The Bears just kept GIVING him yards. Daniel Jones played fine yesterday.

Daniel Jones is why you will be battling the Redskins for the basement in the NFC East.

I don't have any illusions of grandeur for the giants or daniel jones. They are truly in salary-cap hell. I'm just happy to see some wins. Daniel Jones may not be the QB next year, thats cool. Im just glad they are beating shitty teams they would have lost to in previous years.

Another flat out lie by you. The Bears were never in cap hell, they had ample cap space this offseason (but yes they had alot of dead money) but they weren't over the cap.

According to Over The Cap, the Bears have $56.8 million in dead money for the 2022 season, which is the second-most in the NFL. That's behind only the Atlanta Falcons, who have $63.21 million in dead cap.

Every penny of that is money Poles could not spend on FA's.

Please, no more of the stupidity from you about the reality of the Bears cap situation this past off season

actually, yesterday may be the first time the giants played "down" to the level of an opponent in 5 or more years.

Not very MANY were predicting the Giants to have a ton of success or wins this season either, Bob. The Cowboys and WFT will be battling for last place in the NFC East.

You are very, very good at being wrong, Bob. I mean you're not even mistaken or a little off once in a while. You're just flat wrong like 95% of the time. It's really something.

They are pretty similar to the Bears currently. Except Jones has far more experience then Fields.

I like what they are doing as well.

Actual Cap Space and dead money isn't the same, but you can keep living in La La land. It suits you well.

The Bears had about 30 million in cap space when free agency started.

Jones and Fields will get the (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky boot in the ass, he wont get his 5th year option picked up.

And would have had $86M with the dead money included.

That finishes today's class on "How the Cap Actually works in the NFL"

Some of it went to a backup center from the Packers that can't block.

if this team were 0-4 right now, we'd be calling this offense the worst in bears history... which is quite the accomplishment considering this franchise

They already (wisely) declined jones 5th year option. It was practically the first thing Joe Schoen did when he took over.

In the 10 days or so since you last inferred this, has somebody here said that Poles is the new Polian? Perhaps I missed it. I would appreciate if you would link the post here.

Thanks.

Seacrest is CONVICED that Ryan Poles is building a long term success story here despite no evidence to support it

He didn't sign any FA's of significance
The free agents he signed are BAD
Most of his draft picks are BAD!
He passed on players that are doing well for their respective teams as rookies
The offense, as bad as it was last year, has even managed to get worse

CB is an effective troll. There aren't many things he posts that I believe are his legitimate views. If he knows he gets under your skin, he will continue playing those hits.

The offense Ryan Poles has assembled, legitimately really, really sucks.

  Bob isn't smart enough to play this role.

So, nobody has said Poles is the new Polian? Good to see you're still full of shit, Bob.

It does. Primarily due to quarterback suckage. This ragtag team is 4-0 if Fields were just a below average starter.

You are really good at being wrong, and really good at making up quotes.

If you have to make things up to troll, then you're neither effective nor smart.

Pro sports and politics are two places where you can underachieve significantly and still keep a job.

However, going into a season where you purposely plan to fail and thereby potentially jeopardize the career of your younger players only could happen in the NFL, NBA, or MLB where there will still be tons of TV money to prop up your franchise for the year or years you are purposefully tanking.

George McKaskey believes in Ryan Poles to the point he is willing to let his fanbase suffer through which will likely be one of the most embarrassing seasons in team history, which is a huge gamble, but most of us are so invested that we still pay attention even though we know the outcome.

The most exciting and important part of this Bears season will be the end of it because you will know who sucks and who is worth keeping for the franchise altering work that will happen next year in FA and the draft.

At this point it appears you may have a handful of players that are worth keeping around, but you basically need to rebuild your entire roster starting with the interiors of both lines, one place they have significantly failed is in the assumption that Eberflus could coach up a bunch of third rate free agents and rookies into a competent defense. This miscalculation is leading to a team that gets manhandled at the line of scrimmage every game.

Getting gashed via the run is common in the Tampa 2 unless you have an elite 3 technique. The problem is there is like maybe 3-4 (if that) elite 3 techniques in the entire league. The entire defense is dependent on it, which is why the defense is outdated and not run that much. They didn't get gashed against the run like this last year when they were in their base 3-4.

You contradicted yourself Bob. But props for trying to increase your football knowledge.

If there is a shortage of elite 3 technique tackles, then the defense being out dated isn't the reason that teams aren't using it.

It's just a bad defense. If you recall the defense was historically bad when Mel Tucker was brought in and trying to run it with Lovie's old players....when Fox was hired he brought in Fangio who installed the 3-4 and immediately they became respectable against the run, Fangio's disciple Desai ran the the same defense and they always held their own against the run. Going back to the Cover Who? defense was another step backwards.

12 teams in the NFL run a 4-3 defense.

All run a version of the Tampa 2 during a game.

Last year's pass defense was horrible.
