Surprisingly bad thought out of you.

37 strikeouts between the two teams. Great pitching or replacement level hitting approaches??

That's more of an explanation I can live with. However, yesterday's game was solid.

Mind you, I'm a Rays fan, I like their radio team and their AAA team here in Durham is elite. But they just didn't have it this year in a tough division, mostly because of a very high number of injuries.

And I still think that in a 7-game series, the Guardians would lose to the Orioles.

I do think they are built for a short series. Biebs probably doesn't go as long if you are intending to use him 3 times in 7 games.

#5 bullpen. Pitching won't be their problem.

Showalter and the Mets accusing Musgrove of having some sticky stuff

Definitely trying to get in his head and change the momentum of game.

That's all it is. Musgrove has been lights out for 5 starts. Schowalter ought to be more concerned about his AAA lineup that includes a fat softball player.

I like how Musgrove was stoic during the inspection and was like ...whatever.

The increase in hustle is quite noticeable in postseason games.

most pathetic sight was a Mets fan sitting there as they are down 6-0 in an elimination game wearing a Jets jersey

It is great seeing NY fans miserable. Cardinals one day, Mets the next! Now lets get the Yankees out of there!

Announcers were crying a little bit that a team who won 101 games has to be in a short series.

A short series AT HOME, with Scherzer and deGrom as starters?

About Musgrove's shiny/sweaty ears. Is suntan lotion an illegal substance? Claims that a resin/lotion combo is sticky stuff.

I believe the suntan lotion and such would be illegal.

Andrew McCutheon posted on twitter that he thought Musgrove had red hot on his ears. It wouldnt be a sticky substance, but who knows. I am sure pitchers are finding new ways to gain an advantage. His ears did look really strange during that time, like more than just sweat on his ears.

I noticed it right away. It's 50 degrees. Red hot would make him sweat, many pitchers like to be drippy sweaty out there. They don't feel right if they aren't sweaty.

It's an adequate punishment for choking away their division. Don't be a wildcard team and you would of had a bye. 6-4 vs 5-5 in last 10 gets the job done

People were bitching about a 1-game wild card and now they are bitching about a best of three? Fuck them.

Musgrove's ears did look very strange. I wonder if they can view footage of prior games to see if they normally turn red like that. The announcers did mention his curveball spin rate was almost 3,000 rpm. He was really snapping them off last night.

Pete Alonso gets it . Don’t wanna play short series ? Take care of business against shit teams and you won’t have to.

Even so, it's the Padres who clearly had the uphill battle. Mets had two huge advantages in the "short" series.

well, well...the two bald guys (mets & rays) in desperate need of a hitting catcher not fighting over a comb (contreras). i guess they were smart. this off-season, watch the 2 bald guys fight over rogaine and try and sign him. nido and bethancourt (zunino not much better offensively) a combined 1-14 this post season. the rays nearly caught the yankees; just not enough juice to overtake them, but i'm thinking contreras would have helped the mets hold off the braves and the mets would be playing this week and next.

I was annoyed by those comments as well. It felt like a prelude to extend the Wild Card round to five games and the Divisional round to seven. I thought the three division winners and one Wild Card team format was perfect.

Scott Efross needs TJS. The Cubs took the Yankees to the woodshed on that trade.

Took the Phillies and Padres today for the hell of it.

4 straight two out hits by Philly in the top of the 1st to put them ahead 2-0. They were 0-16 with 2 outs in the Wild Card round versus the Cardinals. Baseball is weird.

If Dusty Baker doesn't win it all it'll be his 12th postseason appearance as a manager without a title.
