Robinson made a big play just last week. He deflected the ball and gifted an INT to R.Smith. I would argue the deflection is a bigger play then a ball falling into your hands off a tip.

Yeah, maybe Biggs had A-Rob on his mind. That's a terrible thought.

I heard that as well and thought it was strange. Looking at his raw stats line isn't all that impressive and he hasn't recorded a sack since game 1. There is some Mandela Effect thing going on because I could have sworn he's had more sacks and fumble recoveries. Anyway, to me, he's been showing every week in limited snaps.

His production is similar to Quinn and Muhammed with half the snaps.

Biggs consistently puts out poor football thoughts, as with all of the "Bears Media" he struggles to understand line play which is odd given that he was a 6 XL dude per Akeem Hicks.

His production is amazing given the short time he has played defensive line, you see him using poor fundamentals at times, but that will get better, but you cannot teach the athleticism and motor the kid has, there is a reason Poles kept mentioning him in the Quinn trade presser.

If they had a young LB they felt could step in for Roquan he would likely be gone as well, but he is easily replaced, likely with a significantly bigger and more physical guy that can actually take on a blocker via FA or by using a 2nd or 3rd round pick on the best available SEC LB.

To be fair, Biggs mentioned that play. He said there was that and the one from the 1st week. The response was to Haugh where he asked if the reason Quinn was traded was because Bears management was anxious to evaluate Robinson and Gipson. Biggs said no because neither had shown as much as Haugh seemed to believe and it was simply an move to get more draft capital.

take a look at this year's 4th round. There are good players drafted there, including Dameon Pierce.

Even if you take it to where that pick is projected (130), in just this year, you find names such as Romeo Doubs, Bailey Zappe, Isiah Likely, etc., all making impacts in Year 1

Yep, but like I said, not my criteria. I'd like to see something similar to this but with more normalization to account for different variables. Limitations of the data aside, I do find the WR percentages across the first three rounds to be interesting.

In years past Green Bay made a living finding offensive lineman in these rounds.

You did not just mention Romeo Drops in this post. Point still stands but...Drops? :pukel:

Eddie Jackson was a 4th round pick. As was Kyle Orton.
Nick Kwiatkoski, Jeremy Langford, Henry Melton, DJ Moore, Nate Vasher, Corey Wooten, Alex Brown...all notable Bears 4th round draftees.

Sure, mostly not All Pro guys, but viable starters at times.

He's an immediately contributing (to losses) player from Day 1

If the Bears get a guy who is a regular in a position of need from this trade, I'd be very satisfied.

Poles basically paid 7 million dollars for a 4th round draft pick. Poppa Bear is rolling over in his grave.

They could have paid $8M and got nothing. Not quite like the Vikings willingly giving Kirk Cousins $200M to destroy their team for half a decade.

Of course, that's true.

Do you think Poles will send Fields some tape of the WRs that might be available with the 4th round pick?

He may send him away for a draft pick if he doesn't improve. There are a lot of competent free agent quarterbacks.

If Geno can keep proving it the rest of this season, maybe - but he’ll be 33 already next season.

Jimmy G? Seriously???

Amon-Ra St. Brown was a 4th rnd draft pick in 2021 along with Rhamondre Stevenson RB.

Damien Pierce RB 2022 B.Zappe  , Khalil Shakir, WR 5th round, Tyler Allgeier, RB, Kyren Williams, RB

Plenty of talent in the mid rounds.

The only competent or better quarterback this season that will be a FA that I would give a damn about is Lamar, and he’s not going anywhere.

The Bears are going to have to try to develop Fields over the next year or two, otherwise they will be signing another mediocre QB as a short-term bridge to the next QB draft pick, or somehow mortgage their future (again) via a trade.

I would give the Ravens Fields and multiple first round picks for LJ.

No no no no no no.

No.

No more trading first round picks. Only way this should happen is if Poles is acquiring more picks to move down.

I thought we've established that you can find talent really anywhere in the draft except perhaps the last two rounds. Alvin Kamara, a top three back over the past few years, was a 3rd round pick. Chubb was a second round pick. Kupp was third. This is in addition to guys mentioned above. A fourth round pick is nothing to sneeze at, especially when the cost is just Quinn and salary for this year. Imo

23 and 24 leave em a year short of the Arch Manning sweepstakes. Maybe sign the worst guy in the league for 2025 and shoot for 0-17

I wouldn't be surprised if LJ at least tests the market. And if he does, some team's gonna kitchen sink a contract offer for him. Probably won't be the Bears. But given it's Lamar, i could see the guy down in Carolina going all-in on Jackson or the Walton family eating Russ's deal and throwing Russ money+ at Lamar. It's couch change to the Walton kids.

Plus the Ravens might feel LJ's somewhat expendable. Even tho they didn't W much with Tyler Huntley as starter--probably because half the team was on IR--he didn't feel like a huge fall off from Jackson using the same scheme.

LJ will get tagged IF he doesn't sign an extension. The Bears or any other team would need to trade for him.
