I think the ravens are failing to capitalize on lamar like the pack failed to capitalize on Rodgers. Maybe 1-2 years ago the Ravens were hot and the only thing they lacked was a WR1. Brown wasn't that guy and still isn't. But they dogmatically refused to trade for one because they didn't want to lose picks. Even fans told me they didn't want to give picks up because they'd end up like the Bears. Well, fine, but you're still wasting this good thing (Lamar and a good defense) because of what, exactly? So of course teams shut the Ravens down in the playoffs because it's not hard to shut down second rate offensive weapons and here we are. No rings but at least you have your picks. Congratulations I guess

I wouldn't be surprised if LJ at least tests the market. And if he does, some team's gonna kitchen sink a contract offer for him. Probably won't be the Bears. But given it's Lamar, i could see the guy down in Carolina going all-in on Jackson or the Walton family eating Russ's deal and throwing Russ money+ at Lamar. It's couch change to the Walton kids.

Plus the Ravens might feel LJ's somewhat expendable. Even tho they didn't W much with Tyler Huntley as starter--probably because half the team was on IR--he didn't feel like a huge fall off from Jackson using the same scheme.

LJ will get tagged IF he doesn't sign an extension. The Bears or any other team would need to trade for him.

Yup - which is why he ain’t going anywhere.

you gonna franchise tag a run-first NFL MVP QB? This ain't Kirk Cousins. Maybe if it's a tag and trade and the new team extends--more likely it's a sign and trade, but no way you tag Lamar and expect him to go out there and risk injury on a tag year deal.

He is not gonna make less than the tag in a new deal.

I don't think Tepper or the Walton kids give a shit about existing market rates for QB salary. They'll pay whatever they have to pay to get a franchise QB.

They have nothing to trade the Ravens.

I've got him in both my ff leagues, he's trying to be a pocket passer.. he ain't never gonna be a PP. I liked that he bet on himself but he's gotta run more, 2x as much as he's been running. He's a dynamic player but not a pocket passer, no touch, strong arm and athletic and can win a SB as the qb.. I'd give him a 6 year 200 mill no more..

You're way off, my man. You're not going to get him to sign a deal that pays him less than Kirk Cousins and other mediocre quarterbacks. You're not going to get him to take less than Kyler Murray. You're going to be in the $50M per year range.

They'll trade him if they can't find common ground. I would give him more than Mr. Masseuse. The Browns gave him $250M guaranteed and traded first round picks for him AFTER he sexually assaulted a bunch of women. LJ is better, and he's never had off the field problems.

I like LJ, but I'm not convinced he's an elite QB. He is an amazing talent, but at some point for that kind of money he has to Pocket passing skills and we have yet to see that.

I'm with you on Jimmy G being a competent QB. Yes, that means he's a competent "game manager" but that's an easier formula than finding the next Brady, Mahomes, Rodgers, etc...

Why? He makes every throw. The advanced numbers show that he accurate all over the field.

Shaq Barrett is probably out for the year. A shame that Tampa doesn't have a couple of more wins to entice them to rent Roquan for the rest of the year for a second or a third+fourth.

The problem with a guy like Jackson is he needs to be with a staff that knows how to carefully construct a system around him. He’s so unique that not just any coach/coordinator will be able (or willing) to build that system and constantly put him in a position to be successful. There have been other ‘running’ QB’s throughout history, but no one like Lamar, he’s completely unique. That means that there’s a very high probability of him falling off a cliff if he leaves Baltimore.

I hope Baltimore can work something out with him because he’s fun to watch and what they have going currently works, and is a good fit.

Yesterday in 20 def snaps for the Eagles Quinn put up all zeros except for 1 QB hit.

Does he have much salary left to pick up?

Baltimore is going to have to pay him $15m - $20m to stick around or otherwise be a well paid malcontent.

Guessing they had to pick up some given the Ravens were just under 3 million available.

Probably they got the extra pick (or the 2 was moved up from a 3)

Half of 9.7 million is what's left.
