I know it's a joke, but it happened, Ditka ripped the whole thing apart with Finks (and I know he left but he did the 1983 draft so I give him credit for that) and built it from nothing and 3 years later they were in the NFC Championship Game.

I'm old. But they built a team that dominated the division for a decade.

Completely agree. If you are tearing it down go all the way!!

That's not at all what happened, they won the SuperBowl with pretty much all Finks players.

Current day Bears don't have to wait that long. With the cap space and draft capital, there is no reason the Bears shouldn't be among preseason favorites to win the NFC North next season. Lions, bad. Packers, old and bad. Vikings, Kirk Cousins. Home games against the Falcons, Broncos, Panthers, Raiders, road games at Chargers, Bucs, Saints... 10+ wins is certainly doable with a few breaks here and here.

Agreed on Fields as well, gd.

Isn't that what I just said?

Ditka cut the Noah Jacksons of the world to much criticism and Finks killed the 83 draft.

Ditka move Bortz to the OL and focused on running the football and they were a Championship caliber team in 2-3 years and if you think I'm wrong, ask Joe Washington.

Roquan is young enough to be part of the rebuild. He's younger than Velus.

Poles is creating job security. By the time this roster is ready, Fields is going to need to get paid unless they franchise tag him a time or two or completely start over at QB. I can't see them signing a free agent or trading for a QB...unless they try to trade for Lamar. The Ravens are dragging their feet, so anything is possible.

There's not a single Bears player that I would flip for the current Viking at the same position other than kicker. The Bears have a long way to go to even get to the Vikings level of mediocrity.

Jaylon Johnson is better than anything the Vikings have at Corner.

The Vikings aren't any measure of success. My trophy case is just as full as theirs. Vikings have a ton of cap problems next year so if they don't win it this year (spoiler alert, they won't) they will be lucky to be even mediocre next year.

Get that IMU purple kool aid the fuck out of this thread.

Roquan is not the kind of player you want to make a huge investment in. Whatever mental issues he has and his conditioning problem won't age well.

Yeah, I kind of wonder about that too. It's great to have money but are just spending money on talent you already had?

The picks are good. Nas seems to have issues with him but I liked him.

I brought up all of the Bears division opponents. You steered it to a player by player comparison of the two teams. And then tried to dig at Klein like he is anything other than a warm body with NFL experience that the Bears can stick on their roster for the time being.

I wonder if someone would give up a #1 for Eddie Jackson.

I just saw he turns 29 in December
