Everywhere you look people are ranting about how bad the Bears are this year.

A season like this was almost guaranteed when George inexplicable brought Pace/Nagy back for one more year and let Pace throw away draft capital.

There were also a few nuggets about how Poles only agreed to take the job if he could tear it down to the studs, he quickly started jettisoning underperforming and overpaid vets, a painfully bad roster is all that was left, is it a surprise they suck so bad?

Instead of directing vile toward Poles the fans should be directing it toward ownership which has consistently hired the wrong GM/HC time and time again.

George McKaskey has a consistent record of failure, but even a blind squirrel finds a nut every once in a while, so have to hope he actually stumbled upon the right GM this time.

The lowly Steelers dusted the Colts last night. Is anyone else concerned we hired 1/2 the coaching staff of a team that's in free fall?

Matt Ryan is washed up, so is Russ.. The colts will sign Geno and be respectable again next year..Denver is fucked.

So if the Colts were really good this year then that would mean Eberflus was good even though he's not there any more and they didn't miss a beat?

The Colts being far worse this year doesn't mean anything but if it did mean something it means Eberflus may have been important.

Maybe they are in free fall because they lost half their staff. Probably the good half.

The Colts defense is still pretty good, in fact it was rumored the entire defensive staff would have been fired (if not hired away by the Bears) because of the debacle against Jacksonville

Outside of the quarterback, I would love to swap teams with the Colts.

Where was that rumored?

The Colts had 3 points and were down 23 points until 4:26 left in the fourth quarter when they finally got a touchdown. The whole team failed and they launched Carson Wentz almost immediately.

Obviously you're not going to fire him this year, as that's not realistic. I just don't think he's done a great job. "HITS" is already cliche, only half the team hustles, etc, they really don't generate turnovers. They are in general, terrible. "Flus will be back next year but it's only a matter of time before he is fired.

I don't think this year was about winning games. Of course they have to put in effort on gamedays but it was clearly a tanking/rebuilding year.

With shitty defensive talent and mediocre offensive talent the Bears have led in every game or had an opportunity to win every game. They've also shown they are capable of making adjustments on the fly.

Player development is still a question mark. I like what I've seen from Braxton Jones and Jenkins in that department. I don't like what I've seen from Fields. Letting him run is a sign they've failed to develop him as a passer. Sanborn looks like the only development success on defense.

The talent sucks, but the defense is just so bad, like it shouldn't be that bad if you have a defensive minded head coach. The line in particular, doesn't know any technique whatsoever, the secondary doesn't know who they should be covering. A guy like Jaylon Johnson has regressed in this system. It's the NFL and you still have 300+ pound fat boys yet they are getting blown back 5 yards+ past the line of scrimmage. It's embarrassing.

The Bears have given up the third most points in the NFL this season. Their defense ranks 31st in DVOA. Any way you slice it, the defense comes up HORRIBLE.

It's almost like trading away players for draft picks and freeing up over 100 million in cap space this upcoming offseason meant they were purposefully punting on this year.

Kinda the point of this section, this really should be no surprise because it took several years of ineptitude to create this poor of a roster.

When we played the Giants they put up a "Building the Giants" thing where it showed how they had rebuilt the roster via the draft, for the Bears it would be "destroying the roster", where you could show move by move how Pace wasted draft capital and screwed up the salary cap.

Nobody should be surprised that this team is on course to set a record for most losses in a season.

The best moment of this season will be when the last second of the last game tick off and the franchise altering 2023 season can begin.

You assume Poles was capable to the task. Last offseason is looking like a disaster, he passed on Ogunjobi because of medicals, and signed his prized possession Lucas Patrick. Ironically Ogunjobi is actually PLAYING for the Steelers while Patrick has been a china doll and when not hurt he's been bad.

Move this to the Shoutout section....George hired a guy in Poles who at least has a sensible vision. Maybe Poles can't draft, but cap space is cleared and the Bears are at least showing they have a long-term plan. The Pace era of giving away draft picks like candy was destined for failure.

I think George means well...he's the least detestable of the McCaskey's.

Poles has already traded away one very high pick in less than a year of work.

The Bears had 5 picks in the 2022 draft and ended up with 11 or 13 picks. Poles turns one into two like a siamese twin.

They're all lottery tickets. Especially when you are talking about the 5th round or later. Braxton Jones is a GREAT draft pick.

Starting to warm up to the idea of Will Anderson, but still like trading down with Seahawks, or best offer from QB seeking team, getting Jalen Carter and extra picks.

Learned with Mack that teams can scheme away from outside rushers, but stud interior guys show up every play.

Not sure if there is a great franchise LT or day one #1 WR this year, maybe the best bet to upgrade is by just picking the best SEC DT, DE, or LB with your first three picks, they all likely would be instant upgrades and day one starters.

Will be quite interesting to see the path Poles chooses to rebuild the team, he's not really heavily invested anywhere right now other overpaying Eddie Jackson.

Anderson, Carter, or Trade down are the viable options right now. It doesn't seem like there is a sure fire great OT at the very top of the draft, but that can change between now and draft day. I would lean towards trading down and gaining some more higher picks. But they definitely should have some great options.

I know the Bears' front 7 has no talent, but why are you guys leaning defense over offense?

I'm assuming they are sticking with Fields
I don't see an olineman worthy of a top 5 pick.
Definitely no running back worthy of a top 5 pick.
Leaning towards no WR worthy of a top 5 pick but the kid out of TCU is nice.

Why can't Marvin Harrison Jr be eligible for this draft? Then it would be a slam dunk.

We need a can't miss all pro player, easier to find a defensive guy in this top 5.
