Don't know if you guys made this point. But the Bears should have been guarding the side lines on that last play. Pinch the receiver in. Let him catch it. Fine. Side line out throws were the only way they were gonna have time for a field goal.

Yes, they had time outs but by the time the tackle was made, if the guy caught a ball, the time would have elapsed. Horrible coaching once again.

I watched the replay a bunch and they did have guys guarding the sidelines, but it seemed they were guarding against a 15 yard out and not a 25 yard out. So basically it was different kind of bad coaching,

I really love Orton and Forte.
I really hate Tommie Harris, Mike Brown, the secondary in general and Lovie Smith.
Lovie is just not an inspiring coach.
Personally, I like my coach to be a red-ass.

Should've blitzed on the last pass play. 4 d backs to guard against a td run on a check off, 7 pass rushers, game over.

when is the last time they ran a play-action or just a pass play on short yardage? You have 2 tight ends that can catch -- use them. Every damn time its Forte or McKie right into the pile that never moves.

We are finally seeing what Orton can do with a full preseason with the first team. He's developed a good rhythm with his receivers and has good command of the offense. That no huddle drive was a great job of "managing" the game. Who knows where would be if he had been given that same chance to fight for the #1 job last year? At this rate, he may improve enough to be considered one of the top 15 QB's in the league(which isn't saying much because there are a lot of bad starting qb's right now). Matt Forte is still the driving force behind this offense, but Orton establishing a decent passing game is a great sign.

This game against the Vikings is huge. I could see the Packers losing to both the Colts and the Titans. A win over the Vikings and then a likely win against Detroit and the Bears may have a 1 game lead over a Vikings team that isn't that good and a 2 game lead over the Packers.

This game is huge, but I don't see the Bears winning it. I think they have the same issue with Purple Jesus and will dare Frerotte to beat them with the pass, which is what will happen.
To add injury to insult, Berrian will have a big day.
This last Sunday gave me no reassurance that they won't piss the division away by losing games in the 4th quarter.

Orton still has problems with the fade route, but he had the perfect touch on that pass to Davis.
He just appears to grow each and every time he steps onto the field. He appears to keep his composure. He struggled in the first half, was OK at times in the third quarter, but he was excellent in the fourth quarter.
I'm thoroughly impressed.
I would like my crow medium well. Can I get fries with that?

He does have trouble still with long passes. I won't deny that. However, he also makes brilliant passes putting the ball in a place where its either caught by a Bear or incomplete (Davis yesterday, Hester last week, etc). Also, on some of those long routes, I'd rather have him over throw into an incompletion than under throw and have the ball picked off.

Overall, I've been qutie impressed with the way Orton has played, and can only do very minimal finger pointing at him as to why the Bears have 3 L's.
