This one is was tough.. but it’s also truly a meaningless game. Bears remain in top tier draft position, and if that holds up the rest of the year it can result in reverse fortunes for the franchise.. of course they still have to make the correct picks..

You serious?

Yes. There’s a long list of shitty teams that tank year after year yet remain shitty. Detroit is a great example. Bears fans are acting like drafting a few picks higher/lower will determine the direction of the franchise forever.

They picked 2 and it resulted in several firings and a wasted decade.

It’s much harder to select the correct QB in the top 5 than select the correct defensive or offensive lineman in the top 5.

They don’t know if they have the right QB. Great linemen don’t matter on teams without good QBs. Look at Joe Thomas.

Fields is their QB next season. And I can tell you the Bears won't select a QB with their 1st Round pick. They're going to take a lineman that is going to be special who won't set the franchise back resulting in firings.

The Bears were giving up less than a touchdown in the 2nd half until fairly recently.

This Bears defense played with 1.5 starters. They gave the Bears a chance to win.

Of course. Good teams can overcome bad officiating. Bad teams can’t beat the opponent and the refs.

They were up 9 going into the 4th. A good or even average defense would have found a way to protect the lead. They didn't and seemingly never do. How many times have the Bears D stopped someone in the 4th this season? Seemingly not one time.

Btw.. that salute Rodgers gave at the end there was very ominous if you’re a Packer fan imo.. I think he’s gone after this year.

It's better than winning now.

Fields can't throw either way even if we win.

I'm talking about for the season. For most of the season this defense was giving up less than a touchdown for the second half. That clearly means they were stopping someone.

If I'm blaming any unit for this loss the defense would be last.

They are in most games. They've been blown out three times I think, and even in one of those (Dallas) the game was more competitive than the score indicated. Before the Sieman game their point differential was better than GB, LA, and one or two other teams led by high profile coaches. That's all you can ask for when the roster is garbage - to keep the games competitive. I think questions about closing games out can be asked when the roster has higher expectations.

And I'm talking specifically about the 4th Quarter. I can point to any number of games this year where the game would be won simply if the defense were able to stop someone and seemingly they never do.

They had a practice squad secondary that shut Rodgers down.

If they weren't giving up more than 7 points for a half, they were shutting teams down.

We play a game called "Mental Midget" or "Mental Case".

This is the most troubling Fields game though. They let him throw and he was a turnover machine.

You'd hope that decreases over the season but he's still erratic. I agree with you.

The Bears defense has given up more than 3 points in the 4th quarter twice outside of today. One of those times came when the Bears offense turned the ball over and Washington needed less than 5 yards to score a touchdown. They've given up 3 points twice. The rest are 0's.

why is Fields passing so much? 10 to 12 passes a game, max. Keep the defense somewhat honest. Otherwise run, run run and run again and again.

Overall, I thought he was better passing today. He was still late and inaccurate at times, but he made a few elite throws. I also thought the offensive line gave him time to pass.

It doesn't matter if he is going to throw easy interceptions like that when he opens it up.

He missed Claypool college open in the end zone earlier in the game. Working to become a better passer should be all he does this offseason.

Agreed. Let him learn. Throw it 30 times a game like an actual QB.
