Nice job!!!

Harvard dan and his 40 mins of hell middle school team!!!!

Update...beat the 2 seed at their place in conference tourney. Play on Thursday for the Championship. This team beat us by ten at home last week...felt great to see my kids return the favor.

I also had a 7th grade team. Solid PG, a shooter, and a bully in the middle. Once, we played a team whose coach was a D1 player in the Big 10, and had his two kids playing. Of course his team overplayed everything at all times but I had a simplified triangle offense. Overplay us, and you will pay with the PG we had and how we relentlessly worked on fucking people up the ass who were over aggressive on D. Lay up after lay up. Went up 20-2. That's great and everything but what I will never forget is the silence in the gym when the coach called the TO. The place was STUNNED. Mr Big Time adjusted and we barely hung on by the skin of our teeth and in the year end tournament they dismantled us. But still, everyone, kids, parents, everybody who was there, it was the best moment of the year.

Totally get it...it's nice knowing we are playing with house money on Thursday.

Coaching is fun as hell. Especially when you have the players necessary in order to compete.

I know someone--oh, his name might be Tommy--who just helped steer four more kids into the Evans Scholarship! Honestly, they did all the work, but it is gratifying to have mentored them a little bit. Hoping to get a few more in the spring, too.

I used to think you had no redeeming qualities and now I think you have one redeeming quality so well done!

Nice work, Tommy!

Not to one up you, but I recently consumed an entire box of Ding Dongs in one sitting. True story.

Danke, and if you saved the baseball cards on the. back, it's twice the accomplishment.

Would that be an easier CFMB eating challenge then the "McNugget Challenge"?

That sounds somewhat glorious if there was an ice cold glass of milk involved.

ELAINE: We'll get some cake. Can you stop off at the bakery?

GEORGE: Why don't you just get some Ring Dings at the liquor store?

ELAINE: Ring Dings?

GEORGE: Hey, Ring Dings are better than anything you'll ever get at a bakery.

KRAMER: I like Ring Dings.

ELAINE: George, we can't show up at someone's house with Ring Dings and Pepsi.

GEORGE: I got news for you. I show up with Ring Dings and Pepsi, I become the biggest hit at the party. People be coming up to me, "just between you and me I'm really excited about the Ring Dings and the Pepsi. Europeans with the Beaujolais and Chardonnay . . .

My wife and I crushed Chicago History Podcast Trivia Night at GMan Tavern. We won $20 in Gman Bucks among other things. That paid for about half of my Tulamore Dew & sodas.

I've been drinking jameson and ginger lately (except last Friday). It's good if you are starting later.

Jameson and Ginger Ale is a good drink. A pickle back is weird but tasty as well.

As far as the thread on a cold day like this I’m glad I leave 2/26 for a 7 day southern Caribbean cruise for San Juan. I’m tired of this shit.

Not really bragging because nothing has happened yet, but I'll be taking an interview with another company next week that would require moving out of state. This was really nothing that I have considered in many years. My wife ended up leaving her job in December, and with both of her kids out of the house and on their own, it opened up this possibility. I've wanted to move to a warmer climate for a while, mostly based on my favorite hobby, but also just to be able to enjoy the outside a bit more year round and be a bit closer to my mother and my brothers family. We will see what happens I guess. Even if this opportunity doesn't work out, I think getting out of the Midwest is something I will likely pursue.
