"Steelers 6-2 since trading Claypool."

There's no causation, you dumbass.

This is the Watt Effect. This offense is still being held back by Canada. Let the young bull go!

TJ Watt returning for those 8 games was a little more important than Claypool leaving.

it's watt and not anything to do with chase claypool. 1-6 without watt this year.... 1-10 all time without him

We need to not bother Chase, he is very busy getting the playbook down.

How many different ways can a wide receiver be asked to block?

The Cross Body Block is preferred.

It's amazing they've been able to do that after trading away a #1 receiver.

The more important thing is the Bears offense is exactly the same ranking in the passing game since acquiring him. So does that mean that claypool sucks or is fields unable to get him the ball like he should be. We gave up the number 33 pick in the upcoming draft for this guy so either we have a quarterback problem or a GM who doesn't know what he's doing

Clearly more on joining a run first offense with a QB incapable of consistently feeding WRs. Around 13 catches out of 22 targets in six games with the team. 22 in six is nothing. We don't know how true the rumors of him not knowing the playbook are. Dilfer says it's super easy to know this playbook since it's so simple. So idk if the rumors are true or of it's just that Getsy/Fields aren't supplying him with targets for some reason. So given the sample size we don't know if he sucks, is average or is good.

It's hard to believe they would give up valuable draft capital for a position they badly need and then not try to get him involved right away.

He’s been open a fair amount if you just lock in on him. Either he’s so far down the progression that Fields doesn’t make it to him or Fields is trying to force the ball elsewhere.

I don't know why you're trying to ignore the evidence: Fields doesn't throw the ball. That's either by design or because the line sucks or because he's not able to recognize what constitutes being open at the NFL level. This ain't a defense of Claypool as much as it is a critique of the person responsible for driving the production of all pass catchers on the team.

Right, and judging by Claypool's anger last week he must be open and Fields is not seeing him or not pulling trigger. That would go against the talking point that the WR's aren't getting any separation.

Claypool can barely get on the Field. Probably one of the reasons he hasn't been targeted all that much. I guess that's on Fields too.

In the first half, Claypool played four snaps. He finished the game with 19 snaps, fourth most among the team’s wideouts.

5 of the 6 winds have come against the juggernauts that are the Falcons, Saints, Colts, Panthers, and Raiders.

Most of his targets, catches, and yards came from the game he played with Trevor Siemian. Against one of the best cornerbacks in football. Siemian was only reliable for a quarter or so before the drugs wore off.

Fields response about learning how Claypool runs routes was odd. Look at your tablet and see the guy waving his arms and throw the ball in his direction. Claypool is frustrated because he knows the fans want to see him perform.

Fields already has the fans in his pocket, so he doesn't have the same urgency.

If Claypool is (in theory anyway) the Bears Best Receiver, then why is he only taking the 4th highest number of snaps amongst the wide receiver core?

And does this fact have a lot to do with why he isn't being "targeted" all that much? Just Asking Questions

It could have something to do with health, it could have something to do with coaching, or as evidenced by what we see on the field, it could have something to do with his rapport with Fields. Fields kinda alluded to that after Claypool exploded last game.

Prima Donna/Whiny NFL Wide Receivers are older than either you or me. Him whining means nothing. Particularly given that this was his M.O. at his last stop.
The fact remains that it's tough to target or throw to the guy if he ain't on the Field. If he is only on the Field for 19 plays (with God knows what being actual passing plays) its more than likely either his fault or the coaches than it is Justin Fields's.
