Because he's clearly a finished product and can't or won't improve.

Not true. Urlacher is in the HOF. Hester may go in this year. Tillman, Briggs, Jeffrey, Alex Brown, Neil Anderson, among others, are solid to great Bears draft picks.

A rookie front office has no track record. You're really breaking it down now.

Time will tell. There are all sorts of threads in this section that talk about FAs the Bears should go after. Your flop here is epic and hilarious.

:) Bragging about Neil Anderson, Alex Brown, Alston Jeffery and a Super Bowl loss reeks of desperation.

Stop yourself!

You're the one who tried to go all "ha ha Bears haven't drafted well since before you were born" and it backfired. You're the one who tried to go all "ha ha FARVE has been to more Super Bowls than you have IN YOUR LIFE" and it backfired.

Yep. Pretty sad that the Saints have only been to one Super Bowl with all the talent they have had over the last two decades.

It's a shame the Bears chose Rex Grossman over Drew Brees or we'd be the one with another title and two more titles stolen by the refs. Regular Reader probably would have returned back to the Bears fandom and W_Z could have added us as one of his 13 favorite teams.

True. But it’s far worse to blindly root for a team that is little more than a welfare program for a useless group of mooches that couldn’t give less than a damn about winning or their lemming like fanbase.

You’re projecting. I didn’t watch many Saints games after mid March because I bore easily. And didn’t respect either the commitment or effort. Same as I did in early June with the Sox. But I know that the Saints have still won more than your team since you were what a toddler? And as much as the fraud that is the White Sox in my lifetime. Coming to terms with those realities is the first step back to sanity. Take the advice.

As a cubbie fan, I’d hold off on tossing out (fentanyl laced?)shots from Boystown’s favorite hook up spot.

It's consensual in Boys town. Tocs never mentioned rape. The same thing isn't true in New Orleans. Rapedome is full of Saints fans looking to assault women and men. Deplorable!

Agree. The NFL games in March and April are unwatchable.
Regular Reader wrote:

I could go back and add up the wins, but my guess is the totals are probably close. Saints were bad for a long time in the 80s and 90s.
Regular Reader wrote:

The reality is that the Saints have played in one Super Bowl. That's pathetic. Since you got sick of watching the Bears lose in the playoffs during the latter Ditka years, you should have jumped ship on the Saints as well about five years ago.

That's a Saints institution. We don't have those things outside of prison.

Reader....in all seriousness, I think the McCaskeys do genuinely want to win. They just can't get out of their own way. THAT's the sad part.

All trolling aside, as a kid in the seventies I genuinely began to feel that even old man Halas didn’t really care, or that the excitement of an occasional playoff game whipping up the masses was enough. Maybe when his son passed he lost focus, but when it became apparent that the family only worried about profits by the middle eighties I lost use for the franchise. Money grubbing Ditka played heavily in that as well.

I never considered renouncing my fandom of any Chicago team. Outside of the Bulls, losing came with being a Chicago fan. I was also the idiot who decided to get seconds when it came to baseball. The losing makes the winning more exciting. In order to experience joy, you need pain.

I renounced the Cubbies when they screwed over Bill Madlock, the McCaskey family team when the focus was clearly on profit first and am nearly reevaluating my Sox fandom. And given that the only good Chicago team of my childhood were the Sloan Bulls, I suffered enough pain.

If tears equal love, I was a Bulls fan first. I'm pretty sure I watched the Cubs first. I imagine someone older told me I had to pick one baseball team. You may have noticed that I like to go against popular opinion occasionally.

Honestly, baring a few owners probably, the closer you are to them, the more you will see the money grubbing or whatever you want to call it. And even some of those owners are absolutely worthless. I have never been able to pick up another team. It just goes against something in my nature. My interest and fandom however has waned in that I just stop watching as much as I once did. That's not to say the inner meat ball doesn't come out from time to time still.
