I’d imagine his core job will be political lobbying around the stadium construction.

He has a binder full of boxes or boxes full of binders.

So now Hoge or Jahns or whatever is on 670 talking about Warren's relationship with Fields. Why the fuck should Warren care about Fields? That's not his job or expertise. If you want an exec to care about Fields then hire a VP of football ops. I don't want the stadium guy negotiating with Arlington while also influencing personnel decisions.

This is still a hilarious thing Kevin Warren did.

Image

He was doing interviews in front of an entire wall dedicated to celebrating himself for his degrees and positive newspaper articles and footballs with his name on them.

You know why nearly everyone in a leadership position had to deal with George Floyd and the social unrest around the country. Be better.

It doesn't matter but it's a strange assumption that Warren would even lean left, when everything on his resume would suggest the opposite.

You could same the same thing about Deni$ but you never know!

Yeah that it is Deni$. Understanding our country’s history and progress is a big part of keeping things like LTBG political issues in perspective or folks worrying about everything falling apart.

People around here get in an uproar about athletes kneeling or drag shows when we cannot educate a large portion of our population to grade level (many posters demonstrate that here daily) or continue to rack up massive levels of federal debt.

Hard to teach Math, Science and Reading in today's educational environment when 1st period is dedicated to Drag Shows, 2nd period is CRT and 3rd period is Proper Pronoun Usage. Brought to you by today's Left

Today's kids are smarter than their parents. It probably isn't close. A higher percentage of them are finishing high school, college, and getting advanced degrees. The knowledge/tools they lack, they probably won't need going forward.

Serious question, Bob. Is this what your kids' schedule is like? Can you name any public school in this area or anywhere in the country where 1st, 2nd, & 3rd period shake out like this?

Finishing school or obtaining a degree doesn't necessarily make one smarter than their parents.

We may not always agree with Denis, but its hard (not) to argue he is wrong here.

You didn't answer either questions, Bob.

Unlike of others around here, I encourage you vote and vote for candidates that back your principles.

My strong preference is to vote for Republicans that stick to economic issues and believe in smaller government, free trade, fiscal balance, and the like. I am quite liberal in my social views, which is why I often share common cause with Libertarians. Now I am not the type of guy that thinks we need to privatize local fire departments, but I generally agree with their faith in the free market over government.

It is true we are up to about 35-40% of our children getting college degrees. But the problem is the other half+ are often not prepared for the workforce lacking the ability to read at grade level or perform basic mathematics. As a country we perform poorly on global test scores. Despite my reputation around here, I care that all of our children get a good education whether that be in a public school, charter school or privately.

Of course not. However, I was vaccinated and supported people getting vaccinated. I have never been an Anti-vaxxer. I did believe the government needed to be careful at the beginning until we knew how deadly Covid was. So I was okay with local and state business closures until such time as we knew the world was not going to end. I was advocating a re-opening just slightly ahead of Brick.

I am with you on this. Nothing is more important than education in the Nas household. That said, past generations had a greater percentage of folks who couldn't read or do basic math. There were jobs for them. Many of those jobs aren't coming back.

Our kids are better positioned for this reality than we were. They're not having sex and babies at alarming rates. Because they are college educated, their kids will likely be college educated. In a generation, we're probably looking at 60%+ of kids being college educated. #HighSociety

It is much easier to do thise things compared to when we were coming up also, they have made it that way.

Why is this hire being celebrated again? What is his scope of work? He's being brought in to run the business side, no? Why are people talking like he's running football ops?

He's had business success in Minnesota and the Big Ten. I imagine his Big Ten resources may be useful to Poles for at least the next few years. He was also in Missourah when they won a SB. He loves the Lord. You can't work in Bears management unless you are deeply religious.

So basically he's the next Ted Phillips but with more football experience? Again, if so, who cares? For those who want better management structure at Halas Hall you're basically reproducing the same problem but swapping names - Warren SHOULD NOT have influence over Poles since he's not a football person.

Warren's resume makes him the perfect guy for the job. He built what is considered by some to be the best stadium in the NFL.

And Warren doesn't have to have influence over football decisions to be Poles boss.

He'll easily be able to guage his success based upon results.

I'm not questioning his credentials as they pertain to his core job, which again I'm assuming skews more toward the business side. I'm just wondering why both radio stations are organizing parades for this guy like they would/should have if we hired, say, Ozzie Newsom as VP - Football Ops, supervising Poles. Now that would be freaking awesome.

Poles has been here a year, and may turn out to be better than Ozzie Newsome.

I'm looking to the end of year three to get a better pic of what his plan ends up to be.

I keep hearing all the daytime hosts talking about Warren as this wonderful and polished speaker who has won all the press conferences and interviews. Maybe he’s Tony Robbins compared to George and Ted, but the clips I’ve heard have been nothing extraordinary. Heard one this morning: “I came here to win championships, to win the NFC, to win the NFC North, to win Super Bowls.” Did he script that?

You are funny. I am not left leaning at all. Everyone as work knows I vote Republican (not Trump), but that is easy to do in the insurance world where even the lawyers are right leaning.

The difference is, I listen and respect the opinions of others. You are just argumentative and abrasive for some reason.

Taking $ from a group of people to give it to a different group of people is not anywhere near a libertarian view. Socially liberal is common ground with libertarian only if the govt isn't involved writing checks. You have voted for people that literally want to abolish safety nets.

Nardi, I am well aware of what they stand for. The two main political parties have incurred over $30T in national debt and about $75T in underfunded entitlement programs. And with all that money we have still not achieved global peace or solved poverty and homelessness nor educated our children at an acceptable level.
