For the federal one they totally changed how they do it because of CoVid. Last year the first day was a survey and a CoVid test. The third day of the week was the jury selection. So if they didn't like your survey responses your chances of getting picked were slim. Judge was inspired that all the people showed up on the coldest day of the year. Prior to CoVid they said they would have a couple hundred people come through on a Monday all DMV style, but CoVid led them to suspend jury trials and minimize the number of people they actually brought down to the courthouse for selection. There are ways to get a doctor's note, but it has to be done sooner because if you wait too long they won't accept the doctor's note.
