I think a double trade from 1 to 4 may not be very realistic. I hope it happens. If Will Anderson isn't there at 4, I would be fine going down to 7, 8, 9, or 11. Those teams probably want their choice of the 3rd quarterback.

I could live with being able to take the #1 OL in the draft, especially if we are getting multiple 1s and 2s.

I'm not knocked out by the talent in this year's draft outside of the first few DL. Next year seems really good. There are talents in that draft (caleb willians and harrison Jr) who might go 1-2 if they were able to come out today.

If we can get multiple 1s and 2s next year, i think we will like what is available

I generally agree. I think there will be some good defensive linemen available on day 2 of the draft.

Depending on how everything shakes out, I may want him back at Center next year.

Think that ship may have sailed, have listened to Olin and Thayer talk about Whitehair and they almost always say he's better at guard.

You need a significant upgrade, but do you take a run at the top FA Pocic and lock that position down for the next 5 years, or invest a 2nd/3rd round pick?

Don't think they can drop a lot of FA paper there given that they likely will have to overpay for an OT and a defensive lineman.

bears draft trenton Simpson, LB, Clemson at pick 7..... can become the quarterback of the Bears defense. He has that type of high-end athletic skill set. In the trade back, the Bears get this pick from the Raiders along with their 2023 picks in Round 2, Round 3 and Round 5, a 2024 first and third, plus a 2025 first and fourth.

move down to 7 and you get 2 future firsts and 4 other draft picks? um ok

You make that deal if it's offered, but if they drop to that spot it's likely they go d line or OT and not LB

They get that many picks from the Raiders they could waste the 7th on you and still cum out a head.

They will be drafting a man who can go hurt the QB or protect the QB top ten

Probably would be a small reach at 7 but you would take one of the two OT's at that pick l I would think. I don't think you are touching a LB there. I'm all for building both lines before you even think of LB's or more skill players.

The 49ers traded more to draft the 3rd quarterback in the draft.

yahoo.com knows ill click on any mock draft that they show me.

https://www.yahoo.com/sports/2023-mock-draft-seahawks-move-110110730.html

now this trade return is underwhelming to me... we get picks 5, 20, 53 from the seahawks. i dont think thats enough

That’s the type of trade I’m 100% onboard with, especially if their target is Carter (noting there’s no way I’d buy Seattle would dump 3 high picks to move up and draft a DT).

to me, the firewall is 4. 4 ensures you either Carter or Anderson. Anything beyond that and I'd need a king's ransom to move

yeah unless you are just overwhelmed with a crazy haul I dont think I am going below 4 either.

Although 2 picks in the first round would be nice.

If they made a trade for #4, I could only see the Cards drafting a defensive player, but my guess is they will target a WR.

If Pace were still here I still think there'd be a 20% chance some rival GM could convince him to trade up from #1 to make sure no one else takes his guy.

I think there is a pretty good chance the cardinals trade out of their pick as well.

We'll see how the evaluation period shakes out. It doesn't look like an elite group of WR

I'd really like two #1s next year.

I've watched a lot of videos, and I can't understand the love for Bresee or Carter. Bresee's lazy fat ass gets compared to Aaron Donald. Carter plays 1/3 of the snaps, and he rarely makes the play. What am I missing? Why are these top 6 or 7 prospects?

Listening to the Kap and Hood podcast and they played a clip of Warren Sapp saying he's hearing the Bears are trying to trade Fields.

I would believe a Kap rumor or one of Terry's peeps before I believe Sapp.

The Bears would be negligent NOT to discuss trading Fields, even if at face value it isn't something they plan on doing.

Would leaking the potential for a Fields trade help or hurt potential trade value?

On one hand, a rumored trade makes it seem you’re going to take a QB which could conceivably drive up the asking price. On the other hand, I’d you’re so locked into a QB that you trade your QB, no use trying to trade with you. Better to focus on AZ at 3 and take whoever is left of the 3 viable first rounders.

does a team have enough value to return if you packaged fields and 1? that would be 4 firsts + in return.

Sounds like Payton might not take a job this offseason, which would be awesome for the Bears as he can slide in next year when Eberflus is fired

If I could get two first for fields, I’d do it in a snap. I’m not thinking the market will show that however.
